Finally got my CCW. Took over 2 years in Los Angeles County to go through all the BS.

But it’s finally done.

Now I have both open and concealed carry permits.
Where can you carry. In NJ, the relaxed the CCW requirements due to the SCOTUS ruling but they basically banned guns everywhere except on your own home. I believe this is being challenged in the courts but one case like this was already lost.

The short answer?

Everywhere but schools and govt buildings. There are a few other minor places but that’s the gist of it

I am a little surprised by this. Based on what I read of the law this sounded like a legal shoot. It might seem dumb but I didn't see where the homeowner was required to announce himself. He felt threatened and fired. Of course just because it was a lawful shoot doesn't mean prosecutors won't press charges. If you follow the law in NJ and shoot someone breaking into your house, most lawyers will tell you charges are forthcoming. It is a means of intimidation and coercion. They really don't want people shooting people through the doors of their homes.

This is a potentially ridiculous verdict, of course they claim Walmart KNEW this dude was a mental head case and suicidal.

If THAT is true and Walmart didnt follow proper protocols, I guess I can understand it. But I would need to hear more about how they KNEW all this beforehand.

This is insane. How can Walmart properly diagnose a person's psyche? We have a Supreme Court justice who claims she can't define a woman because she is not a biologist. Must Walmart have roaming psychologists to analyze all there employees as the come to work?
