I am going to bring this up again because it deserves emphasis. Orwell's "1984" was about socialism and the life if imposes on ordinary people. The end of the books explains the entire purpose of Big Brother and the indoctrination of the people is to keep the ruling class in a lifestyle of luxury. Every socialist/communist government has a ruling class that enjoys a much better lifestyle than the hard working people they oppress.

This is the problem with social media. Anyone with a camera and a computer can make a video saying whatever they want and of course lots of other imbeciles will see it and believe it.
Of course Mamdani's grocery stores will cost taxpayers money. There is no other way to make it work. How anyone can think otherwise is kind of ridiculous really. But this is the mentality of socialists and liberals in general. They do not understand finances and how things work. They also thing that government can alter the laws of economics without consequences, despite numerous real world examples of government price fixing and screwing everything up in the process.
