Really like Flournoy. We got damn lucky nobody claimed him after they foolishly released him for a few days prior to game one last yr. I bet there's a number of WR needy teams kicking themselves for not claiming him.

this team has the top WR duo in the NFL, both #1's for almost any team in the league individually

you could say that the path is paved for flourney to flourish

You're focusing on the wrong position..................
And what position should I be focusing? LB is a definite concern. Putting Overshown in at Middle Linebacker is not a good decision in my opinion. He is more of an open field sideline to sideline LB. Taking on interior linemen with his injury history is a recipe for disaster. We are thin at LB. A Proven Dog in the middle would be a HUGE boost for this rebuilt defense. The other position of concern is offensive tackle but our offense seemed to do pretty good last year so less of an issue than trying to improve from a 32nd ranked defense this 64 yo man could run on.

We will be fine.
Respectfully disagree . We need a dog at middle linebacker. Brooks from Miami would be a huge add not only because of his athletic ability but from a leadership standpoint as well. The front office knows they need to make a move at LB . It would also send another strong signal that they are all in for a Super Bowl run NOW! No more kicking the can down the road. No way you can start the season with this position being addressed and expect to get optimal improvement . Overshown does not have the frame or physicality to successfully man the middle. In addition he is injury prone . IMO he is best suited to be an open field player where he is not constantly taking on blockers . He needs to be able to run. I am predicting you will see a front office move to address this issue.

People are hung up on this size thing and not remembering this is not a traditional 80's, 90's or even early 2000's scheme. They don't even play "traditional" LB spots anymore. Most teams play two true LB's on the field, which is what we will be doing this yr. The other two "LB's" are edge rush guys.

Nakobe Dean did just fine (when he was healthy) playing MLB for Philly and he's 5'11 and probably no more than 225 lbs. Their Super Bowl winning season he was the healthiest he's ever been started 15 games and their defense was prob the best in football. Overshown is 6'2 and 220. Dee Winters is literally the same size as Dean and was one of the highest rated LB's in the league last yr.

But if those guys arnt your cup of tea just be patient, eventually Jaishawn Barham is going to play extensively and he's almost 6'3 and 240lbs or so. And don't sleep on Shemar James either. He was pretty productive last yr for a day 3 rookie and this coaching staff will undoubtedly get more out of him than last years miserable staff did.

They could still make a move for someone else, they have plenty of time. But if they don't I won't sweat it because I think these guys are capable. This unit will be nowhere near the trainwreck of last yrs unit.
