Who Here is Not Entirely Sold on Dak Prescott?

When one pays attention and is objective, it becomes clear going all the way back to Romo fumbling the FG snap, this entire team crumbles under the pressure of playoff football. Will this totally new coaching regime and all new approach fix that longstanding bug? QB ain't the problem. As the Romosexuals used to love to say.

Yes. Coaching problem. Home team slipped him a slick ball. NFL changed the rules about kicking balls. This was about attention to detail. So WHY ARE you the only team in the league using your starting QB for the holder on FGs and XPs?
Seattle had done same thing during that season. It was on film. We didn't pick up on it. I'm not blaming Romo I'm just saying, it's 100 people involved not just the ones who actually take the field. And it's certainly not just the QB.
So to blame everything on the QB isn't objective. It's infantile. Roger Staubach shit the bed in playoff games too. So did Danny White. It's the TEAM.

Yes, but the Special Amnesia that one gets, when a Team Wins the Big One, has not been afforded to Romo or to Prescott.

No, Hostetler and the other half dozen bus drivers with rings didn't suddenly become elite quarterbacks. Not even in the mind of fans of same.
Meanwhile you have the Dan Marinos of the world and some others who truly WERE elite but never got the gold.

I guess blaming the guy under center is just to much for some people because they'll have to admit there's not a chance in hell to win the Big One. It's just too much of a cross to bear for some fans and they'd rather have a sliver of hope (see $100 bet) so they blame everything and everyone else.
If people have watched this dolt's career and how he folds under playoff pressure and come away thinking "it's the coaching" is really just blind or worse. Does coaching play a part? Absolutely. But coaching can't overcome your QB shitting the bed.

And we're watching him throw 60 times why, in the 2023 playoff game? Oh yeah that's right, opponent going through our defense like it's not even there. Opponent therefore able to just pin their ears back and come after the QB every snap. NO QB is going to win in that situation.
In fact the two playoff games we've won with Dak, he had 33 pass attempts. EVERY one we've lost he has significantly more pass attempts. IT'S NOT JUST THE QB.

When you're struggling to get points on O that will happen. Dak never made a game of the 2023 playoff game. He completely shit the bed. The first points they put on the board was with 3 seconds left and only because of a PI that stopped the clock or it would have run out. Whatever.
And yes, the D was a problem. No doubt. But I get tired of seeing the same game from the QB time and time again but that's good enough for people like you. Not me.

On one hand, Dooms has a point (a point I have agreed with for some time) in that over the course of Super Bowl history, there are examples of average to mediocre QB's winning a championship. When you see QB's like Nick Folk, Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler, Doug Williams, Joe Theisman, Mark Rypien, Brad Johnson, Jalen Hurts and even Sam Darnold, it's not a reach to think a team MIGHT could win with a QB like Prescott.
But then the reality of his career suggests otherwise. Dooms posted his playoff game numbers and the only two good games he had were as a rookie (where again, we got behind way early and had to crawl back into the game) and then against a team with a losing record that had checked out before the kickoff (Tampa). None of his other starts were very good and his last few losses he played like shit. Yes the defense was horrible in that 2023 Packer debacle, but he took a 14-0 game and made it 28-0 with a couple of horrendous picks. We were heavy favorites in that game and were favored against San Fran in 2021 too, both home losses. And he was almost the sole reason they lost at SF in 2022.
I like Schottenheimer as the HC and I think he's put together a potentially really good staff, but the defense would have to take a major leap and the ST would have to be exceptional. Then all the key guys have to stay healthy. Prescott possibly could win a title, but almost everything else would have to go perfect for it to happen.

Fumbling that snap wasn't the problem.
Concocting the worst offensive game plan in the history of the postseason was the problem. Parcells and that fucking clown Sparano wouldnt trust his probowl QB, two 1000+ yd WR's and a HoF player just entering his prime at TE against a secondary made up of street free agents and 4th/5th/6th teamers.
Besides, even had Romo got the hold down and they made the gimmee FG, Seattle still had well over a minute left in the game to drive down the field and kick a FG of their own, something I am 100% sure would have happened against the dipshit Zimmer defense.

Then don't bring up the 2023 playoff game or "yeah, but" when discussing the QB. I am being objective when I said the D is/was a problem. But I also know the guy under center was a problem and the game was over by the end of the first half. The guy choked and was outplayed by Jordan Love. It is what it is. But sugar coating it won't prove your point.

So you bet $100 on an outlier? Is that what you're hoping for or betting on? Or did you bet the $100 that we'd win with Dak.
This whole argument of mediocre QB's winning the big one or D's carrying the team/QB (ie: TB and Dilfer) is worn out. It's an outlier, not the norm. That's not what I hope for. We have a guy that is the highest paid player in the NFL. I expect more. You're happy to root for a miracle. Not me.

And we could have gotten the ball back had the D held....Seattle was pinned on their goal line and the D just let the RB rip off some big gains to end the game. But whatever.
We never attacked that secondary and it never should have come down to the FG. And did you ever see a spot overturned from that camera angle when the ref (who called the 1st down) was standing in front of the play by the first down marker?

Did you listen before you posted it? It's BS.....the guy couldn't even be sure Dallas would win 10 games. And Daniels, Dart and Hurts are going to give Dak a run for who's a better QB in the division.
