Here's my take on this.....if Murkowski will nuke the filibuster and join the SAVE America Act bandwagon with this revision, I may be on board. I can see where someone who's 65 may not be able to find their birth certificate or it may become more of a challenge. I also don't think that many 65 year olds will be crossing the border regularly. I get the push back but it's worth a discussion.

Maybe.......but not during this presential term. But I hear what you're saying. In the end, some of the asks may not be unreasonable and I think this may be one of them. My parents were naturalized Americans, as am I. If I had to find their citizenship papers it would be tough but I could probably use their passport.

Yeah let's not be so obstinate we can't let a clearly reasonable exception stop everything.

1961 precedes the Destroy America Act, otherwise known as the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 which ended quota for immigration based on nationality. This is what led to the current overwhelming populations of groups that hate America. Prior to 1961, immigrations problems like we have today did not exist or at least were not a threat to our national identity.

I would need to see more facts before I support this change, but I would be willing to consider it. I suspect anyone born before 1961 who has not voted probably still won't vote in future elections, at least not in numbers that would matter. If this change gets the bill passed, I am all for it.

But, how does one prove he was born before 1961? Doesn't that require some form of ID or birth certificate?
