Not really sure why they kept Sorensen. Not only were the penalties awful, but Turpin regressed (badly) as a weapon in the return game, the kickoff coverage was terrible, the punt coverage was mediocre at best and even Aubrey seemed to slip late in the season.

Leonard is obviously at the very top of almost everybody's "want" list for us. Extremely well regarded.

Jones is also interesting, has been on Flores staff as defensive passing game coordinator for 3 years now. Is said to favor a very aggressive style of scheme. Banda has ben working under Jim Scwartz in Cleveland for several season and does have defensive coordinator experience.

All three have expertise in coaching secondaries and all three coach aggressive styles of play and come from a coaching tree of guys who have elaborate blitz and coverages schemes. Complete opposite of what we have now.

FYI Leonard will likely get several DC opps. Jones is interviewing with the Jets for their DC spot. Banda has already interviewed for the DC spot in Indy.

Could be temporary, the Falcons are looking for a HC. Owner Blank said he wants the new HC to keep Ulbrich as DC, he had a major impact on the Falcons defense in his 1st yr there and with the Jets he was DC under Robert Saleh, and they had 3 straight years of near the top of the league defensive rankings under him.
