At the end of the day, the scheme is shit. The DC is shit. You have two ball hawk CB's basically playing off the ball in zone coverage with a 10 yard cushion. I get it....those guys are coming off injures and might not be 100% until next season. But Diggs basically told us we should be playing more man. But the DC is a stubborn idiot who tries to fit players into his scheme instead of scheming for the players strengths.

I've seen an analysis where they were trying to bait throw to that receiver and the LB would have a play on the ball but the LB got their late. That could very well be the reason Bland was so far off the WR......and it's plausible as well.
Yes I came back here just to suggest this. If true I think it's dumb. 4th and 4 in your own red zone.

Yeah....I don't get the plan to "bait" the throw by keeping a guy that wide open. The LB can slip.....he can be late....etc. Make the QB find the open man and force a throw. But I digress...

Insane that Bland played that passively knowing that the ball had to come out soon.

Why have the LB come from the opposite side of the formation? Takes too long to get to the ball. Have him come from same side and have him just drop back at the right time.

Some of the people that cover x's and o's talked about this play and pointed that out, if the intent was for Murray (think it was Murray) to get there in time, it was painfully flawed thinking because he essentially had no chance.

I know we are lacking in talent, but stuff like this is why I think 80% or more of our issues are just plain stupid scheme. What he is asking these guys to do makes no damn sense.

Everyone is rightfully talking about that 4th and 4 play because it was the play of the game basically. Stop it and you win. But put in the tape of virtually every game this yr and look at how we cover inside the 10 yd line and you'll see the same stuff over and over. Guys way off the receivers and gaping holes in the zone areas. Its incredibly predictable.

He's trying to manufacture picks instead of scheming to his player's strengths and abilities. As Dodger pointed out earlier. It's malpractice. Maladroit.
