there were only 11 payments, here's the breakdown of the 34 "felonies":
To me, this would be like catching a person stealing a bag of Hershey Kisses and instead of charging for one count of theft, they break open the bag and count then number of individual kisses and charge for each one.
absurdity piled upon absurdity and there are still millions of people fine with it justified by nothing more than their TDS completely oblivions to the precedent these types of prosecutions set

Trump has appealed this case but not on the numerous errors made by the judge and prosecutor. Instead his lawyers chose to challenge his convictions on the grounds that some of the evidence presented in the case was related to Trump while in office and therefore the case should be moved to a federal court. His attorneys believe once it is moved to a federal court it will be dismissed and Trump's convictions vacated.
This is risky to me. I would rather seem him appeal on the merits of the case. The allowance of an unspecified underlying crime to circumvent the statute of limitations for one. Trump's constitutional right to know what the underlying crime was was denied. The judges guidance to the jurors, that they didn't need to decide on what underlying crime was committed, just that there was any underlying crime, is also a serious flaw. Trump might be trying to avoid another lengthy trial while he is president or after he leaves office, and I understand that. But if it was me, I would want a legitimate trial with these errors corrected. Trump would win because there really is no underlying crime. There is no fraud. It might require multiple appeals to higher courts, but once it gets out of NY I think Trump wins easily.
