Every level of government should have some level of DOGE activity to ensure our tax dollars are not going to waste. Politics in America has become a huge money laundering machine that needs to be destroyed.

I havent read the bill but I wouldnt be surprised to find out Elon is right and its the same ol, same ol, full or pork and garbage that just adds to our never-ending debt

How long do we have before the dollar completely crashes?

The problem is, congress will never eliminate the bulk of the abuse and waste because they all get a share of it either directly or through their big donors. You are asking the mice to vote to ban cheese.

We need term limits so that the majority of congress is not constantly fight to keep their career seats in politics. A seat in congress is not an entitlement. It belongs to the people not to any one politicians. But the people are to blame because they are not demanding better.

Instead you'll have much worse graft and fraud as these outgoing critters know they don't have to face the ballot box. Especially the Senators, who'll have a six year worry free term. During which the party simply grooms the correct replacement.

Election day is term limits. Federalist Papers.

I'll say this. I like Elon. But he over promised and under produced. But he still saved the country hundreds of billions of dollars and shed a light on the corruption within our government. And he did it at great personal and professional expense. I think the guy deserves the Medal of Freedom.

Having said that, we all voted for Trump and I will default to him to some extent. If Trump is telling you he needs the budget to help grow the economy....then I believe him. Are there things that should be cut? Most probably and if there are crazy ass programs, cut them. It's what happens in these budget negotiations. But Rand Paul and Massie are showboats. The economy is anticipated to grow by 4.6%. That's unheard of and it's a direct result of policies and I'd bet the administration is anticipating the increase in revenues to off-set the increase in spending.

They are both blowhards and their acts are tired to me.

Rand Paul has been foaming at the mouth for years now over Fauci and hasnt done one fucking thing about it other than go on various news shows and piss and moan about him. He has done nothing to bring the guy to justice.

I used to agree with that theory, but it has not worked in practice. Corruption has insured that the candidates that win primaries are the candidates that are supported by the parties. And the people cannot be trusted to remove the filth. Look at Pelosi, or Ted Kennedy. Even voters put party over the welfare of the country now.

This is why we need term limits.

I guess you didn't read. Six years of worry free fraud and graft while the party has that six years to groom the replacement. How's that better other than just emotional satisfaction of seeing hated people have to step aside?

Meanwhile your guys and gals with no grift or fraud, doing a good job for their constituents, can't run again? Punished because grift and fraud exists or is perceived to exist elsewhere?

Just glad it's all but impossible to change.

thi s is an interesting topic to debate

seems there is some merit/benefit to removing the option of being a career politician which I think would occur with term limits

Originally there were term limits but everything I've said and more built up demand to remove it and it took a constitutional amendment to get it done. So the reasoning must have been hella strong.

Ha!

yeah, the rational probably benefitted the people that would lose their jobs had term limits stayed, Im dubious of anything they manage to pass as it always seems to benefit congress/senate or the dems/reps

To get a constitutional amendment has always been near impossible. When you do it's because most everyone sees it's needed. Not to save anyone's job.

you may be right but I'm still dubious, I dont trust these self serving MFer's in DC especially when the outcome of this amendment meant they could conceivably keep their job for a lifetime

Just look at what it takes to get an amendment to the Constitution. Then look at all of the Amendments over the centuries.
