I would love it if they found a way, he is a vastly underrated part of this offense. I'm just not sure it'll happen, though. ACL injuries aren't as long an absence as they used to be. I think it's going to all depend on how good of a team wants him and if it's bad enough to be paying him big time to miss a half a season or more.

I doubt he gets #1 WR type money now that he has had his second injury this season. This one being more serious than the last.

Otherwise some team would have assuredly over paid for his services.

Now maybe he will be affordable and in a range that we could afford to keep him.

I think it was 2011 when Philly came into Dallas winners of like 7 or 8 in a row and we beat their asses then turned around and beat their asses again in the playoffs. Philly was pretenders, having beat no one and we were the better team. While I think we are better than Philly this year. I still think we are the 2011 Eagles in that we have beat no one of value. We are not as good as our record indicates and yesterday proved it. The online brought me back to the days of Cory Proctor and this off-season we have GOT to fix that. The defense, while good, cannot win a game against a good team alone. Dak has been playing exactly how he was drafted the past 2 months and I think he needs a shrink because he has the yips.

It was 2009, the year before Wade got fired.

I think we went into the playoffs with back to back shutout wins. The Philly game Zoners swore up and down that Andy Reid lost the game on purpose because "He was smarter than the Cowboys coaches and wanted to play Dallas the next week in the playoffs". No, not kidding, they TRULY believed that.

The playoff game was where McFlabb did that ridiculous guitar dance thing coming out of the gates for the game in our stadium.

Here is my take on the penalties

It’s fucking 2022! We have instant replay. This SHIT should NOT be happening anymore. No in this day and age with the technology already in use.

We as fans at home get to see every single play replayed on instant replay within just a couple seconds after it happens. We as fans at home can tell in an instant if they got the call right or not (about 8 or 9 out of 10 times)

The league already has the ability to recheck every single call within just seconds. It wouldn’t slow the game down for the tv audience since they are already replaying it for us at home. While that is happening they could have an appointed league official look at each call while we at home are seeing it again. Then they can make a ruling which can be received instantly by the ref on the field.

We should not be dealing with bad calls anymore with the technology we already have in place.
I'm with you for the most part, I think this is what LVE was also hinting at this morning when he was saying most of this could easily be fixed.

I don't know that EVERY penalty should be reviewed, but I do think that things like turnovers (whether called on the field or not), PI calls and personal foul calls (especially for roughing the passer BS calls) should probably be able to be corrected immediately.

That said, how hard could it be for those fucktards in the league office to assign one or two people to EVERY game, sit there in front of the TV and when they see something obvious (as you mention, things that ALL of us can easily see) then they should buzz right in and correct it.

They wont do it, but a smart front office would entertain offers for Cooper and if something of quality is offered, trade him and resign Gallup, then maybe look at the draft and add another guy in the middle rounds.

If they trade Cooper they'd probably have enough to keep Gallup AND Wilson, along with a couple other potential free agents.

I love Cooper, and it's hard to believe he is only 27 still (wont be 28 until next summer) but it would be a proactive move that could payoff for us in cap space and land us a potential quality pick or two.

Zoner idiots complaining because McCarthy said in his PC today they were going to play Saturday night to win the game. S Jones said earlier in the day they were not going to rest/sit people and Zoners wig out.

Some of these fucktards are the same people that 48 hours ago were talking about "we better not rest people and fuck up momentum for that first playoff game!!!!!!"

WTF is it with Raiders and stupid shit like this.

It was a stupid fucking idea to move a team to Las Vegas anyway, and it seems like every week or so something like this happens to help further prove it.

Las Vegas has got to be the worst possible city to have a pro team in for any sport.

There is just too much crazy shit going on 24/7 for the players to get mixed up in. It’s way too easy for a weak minded man child to be tempted by all the shit that that city has to offer.

Again, your think I am saying the fix is in because its a conspiracy against Dallas.

I said I don't think it really is, I think gambling has more to do with it. That's also hw you explain so much bad officiating all around the league.

I bet Goodell and the league office are aware of it, but there will never be any type of public investigation because of the extreme backlash from fans and advertisers if this ever got out.

No, I'm asking you to explain how Dallas becomes more penalized than other teams and repeating that you don't think the fix is in nor is it a grand conspiracy, so that leaves gambling??

are you saying some refs are being manipulated to call games against the Cowboys and thats the reason they are penalized unfairly?

FWIW, thats plausible but I don't know why the cowboys would be targeted more than any other team as it would provide greater cover to spread cooperative refs across several teams/games vs piling them all on the Cowboys so they can keep manipulating outcomes for financial gain

So do they actually win a playoff game or do they lay down like dogs?

After the Cards game, hard for me to believe they win a postseason game. That was an embarrassment against a completely outmanned team at home, and outmanned team had played like shit for 3 straight weeks. If we can't win that game how the hell do they expect to win in the postseason?

Like I said in my postgame meltdown, I am never believing in this team again.

There could be several factors involved.

First, you could have officials who are gambling on the games they are officiating. If you know team A is favored by 9 pts, and you bet on team B then you would probably do things during the game to ensure team B covers. It doesn't matter if Team B "wins" the game, but someone would pocket money by simply having them cover the spread. If an official has bet on an "over" then he might be more inclined to call penalties to help teams score more points (ie, defensive pass interferences/holding/illegal contact, roughing the passer calls etc etc). If one has bet the "under" then he might do things to try to hinder scoring, like offensive holdings or offensive PI. I suspect this is actually pretty prevalent and is a reason why bad officiating isn't exclusive of Cowboys games. This is why I said in another post I blame Goodell and league owners, because NFL officials are not fulltime employees and are not paid that well by the league and IMO this encourages officials to "supplement" their incomes. Now some would argue these people have other jobs to do that, but they also know dollars and cents. The NFL is a massive money maker and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to suppose that several (if not MANY) officials resent that they are paid so little.

Second, and probably more nefarious would be officials who are directly compensated by Vegas (or other sports books) to influence outcomes that THEY want. There's is massive amounts of money in gambling and Vegas hates losses. NFL officiating assignments are known before the games are played (for example, the ref for our game Sat night is Ron Torbert) and Vegas obviously gets this info well ahead of time. If they see massive amounts of money going for one team or one bet, they want to avoid mass payouts.

Lastly, and probably not quite as prevalent would be a refs own personal bias. If an official is a life long fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and finds himself involved in one of those games, its not hard to figure out that some judgement calls are erred on the side of the team that person loves. I mention the Steelers but it could be any team, although there was a story a few years ago about a head official being a lifelong Pittsburgh resident and admitted Steeler fan, who ended up doing a Steelers postseason game. The league office tried to downplay it afterward, but the follow u story found a couple other examples of this and since then the league has said they go to great strides to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Who knows if they really do or not.

I gave up gambling years ago, but when I was doing it a lot games involving the Cowboys had more "money" involved than other games, probably due to their popularity (both for and against) and the fact that prior to NFL Sunday Ticket, they were on TV more than other teams.

Of course human error is always going to be a part of a game. Some calls are genuinely "missed" or just "blown" but there are far too many examples of mind boggling calls/no-calls that cannot be explained by "human error". My belief is the league will never do anything about it because it would be a complete PR disaster for them.

This is the play I was referring to the other day. I didn't notice it was in the endzone live, but someone in CZ posted after the game that it was indeed in the endzone. Lawrence was clearly held in the endzone on this play which should have been a safety. They converted this 3rd down and ended up scoring their initial TD, so this was a 9 point swing play.

What you can't see in this picture is Randy Gregory was actually held as well (not in the endzone). My beef here is these same refs had no problem eagle-eyeing 4 offensive holding calls against us, but they turn around and avoid something just as (if not even more) obvious than the ones they called on us. The Cards were missing their best OT and yet their OL was only flagged once for holding against our defensive front, which pretty much all agree on is a very good pass rushing front now. Conversely, they were MISSING their best pass rusher (Markus Golden, who leads their tam with 11 sacks) and our OL got flagged over and over.

That play was plain as day and the type of plays I was referring to in the thread. I get it......a hold an be called on just about every play. But damn....just call the obvious ones. I was screaming at the TV watching that play unfold.

Any time there's a defensive player in the backfield on that type of play, that's something the ref has to see. Somehow, they see the hold from our OL in the scrum. But Lawrence trying to get to the QB with a hold of his jersey goes un-noticed. Bullshit.
