I'd be inclined to hire a bright young defensive mind, but it's always the offensive coordinators who get the jobs.

THE WHOLE FUCKING ORGANIZATION NEEDS AN ENEMA BUT THE OWNER REFUSES & ITS LIKELY HIS SPAWN WILL FOLLOW SUIT!!

sticky this comment and throw it in my face if its ever proven wrong:

The new coach won't make a damn bit of difference (in terms of winning Super Bowls), things will initially feel a little better, probably even supported by some wins, maybe even playoff wins but at the end of the day, the organization structure, philosophy, arrogance, endless money stream and buffoon GM, etc will continue to undermine any coaches ability to win a super bowl in Dallas.

It will only be a matter of time before we are complaining about the new guys inability to do x, y and/or z.

Book it!

Well here's to hoping you are wrong but wouldn't be surprised if you aren't
I think if Meyer is hired he brings pedigree albeit in the college game but I'm crossing my fingers (and legs and whatever the fuck else I can cross) that Jerry sees his own mortality allowing Meyer to do what he needs to do...If the demented one truly believes he has compiled the talent to win (which is debatable), then he's going to have to swallow some pride and ego and step back and the coach well...coach!!!
With The Red Clapper, he has been trying to be right instead of getting it right and he's just too emotional about him...bad quality to have as a GM

I prefer a yeller/shitkicker on the sideline, but I could live with Meyer if Jerry doesn't force Moore, Richard or any other coach on him.

Broaddus said on national radio yesterday that Meyer would likely be asked to keep Moore as OC if offered the job. That is so Jerry.

I'm sure he'll be "asked" as in, asked to talk to him before letting him go.

Much like Parcells did with Zimmer in 2003. Jerry basically begged Parcells to at least talk to him before replacing him.

Things could be worse

We could have been stuck with Mr. 7-9 all this time

I lean towards Meyer, Riley or someone like Rivera because this team needs a head coach who's run the entire show, not just a playcaller. Garrett wears a headset, never talks into it, never coaches up his players on the sideline like Belichick, and outsources everything else (including our phenomenal special teams) to his assistants. No more of that.

I should like Riley considering he went Tech and coached with Mike Leach but I'm VERY leery of his limited experience. He has a lot more than Garrettt did when he got the job but sill seems lacking to me.

I like the idea of someone who has coached many positions in the NFL (& college) on both sides of the ball for a variety of head coaches & who wanted to do this in preparation for one day being a head coach.

Maybe thats a name none of us have ever heard of or perhaps its someone like the hated McDaniels, I dont know. Unfortunately, I dont trust the person looking any more than I would myself, so its gonna be interesting to see what type of guy we end up with.

If I had to guess, Meyer seems to be in jeri's wheelhouse assuming he'll sign the necessary contractual documents requiring his pliability as well as agreeing to bestow "credit" on his owner/GM profusely should the miracle occur and they win a Super Bowl on his watch

Good Afternoon Yim,

I agree with you that our next coach has to have NFL experience. I know that Meyer is the hot choice right now, but I am so-so due to his health and lack of NFL experience. Who would be your list of candidates for HC?

I think Riley would be excellent for Prescott, and I do believe having a legit plan for him and knowing his development will continue will be a big part of what the Jones' and McClay consider when hiring the new HC.

To me Urban Meyer's only negative is the potential health thing, otherwise he seems like a perfect fit here. His style of offense he is seeing first hand will work in the league, and Prescott played very well in Dan Mullen's offense at Miss St. Meyer also had tremendous success with Zeke and other RB's (and WR's). I also like that Meyer's team have pretty much always been good on defense and special teams. In Lincoln Riley's case you cant say that, especially with the defense.

Howdy sir (or mam),

I really dont have any idea, all I can do is regurgitate the obvious names circulating out there so if I had to pick a name it would be Josh McDaniels.

I want someone who has been with Belichick and can bring as many of his principles, strategies and methods to Dallas as possible. I realize Belichick's coaching offspring hasn't dazzled yet (except Saban) but figure surely someone will be able to repeat some level of success having learned from the master. Josh has been with hoody for like 15+ years, thats a lot of experience & tutelage. If he's hungry ,humble and ready for the challenge, I'd take a LONG hard look at him.

Any hope I can muster from a coaching change is tempered by the fact I know jeri abhors the type of environment that is conducive to winning because that would require him to step back, shut up, respect the chain of command and have a seriously focused and hard working culture all of which make him miserable
