I expected to hate on Kellen Moore as an OC

So far, I ain’t mad at em!

We already look better in the red zone than we did last season. Maybe, just maybe this season won’t be the shit show I feared it would

things look better for sure but I pretty much throw out all results until after game 6 as the first 4-6 games have turned into pseudo pre-season

it will be interesting to see who is still looking good after week 6

I agree

We don’t know shit till after 4-6 games. But at least they don’t look pathetic in the red zone like they did ALL last season. So at least we are seeing some improvement.

Plus it’s nice to see Cobb get some YAC and not go down as soon as he catches the ball like Beasley would. Plus Beasley caused a pick six on a bumbled catch today for the Bills.

Cobb didn’t show much during preseason and he’s looking good.

Plus it’s nice to see Dak finally hook up with Gallop, especially after all those overthrown/missed opportunities he had with Gallop last season

The defense isn’t looking as good as I had hoped for.

At least things seem to be trending in the right direction. It will be interesting to see what Helen Moore’s offense looks like after the bye and the league has learned some of his tendencies. (If it even takes that long)

It looks like Dink and Dunk Dak is no more!

I’m really liking Cobb as a Cowboy! TD Cobb!

Not saying I've climbed on board the hype train just yet, but my grip on the noose isn't nearly as tight as it was last year, either...

I've never stopped being a fan of Dak, despite his accuracy and anticipation issues, I've always thought there was something special about him. Whether that's enough to compensate for the issues above or perhaps he's starting to correct them remains to be seen but the first game is looking rather amazing. His stats as I write this just flashed across the screen as follows:

25/31 405 yards 4TDS/0 INTS. 158.3 rating

I suppose we'll hear that's because the Giants defense sucks

In the mean time, I'm

Paging Dodger...........

Dak's played lights out. One of his best games as a pro was last year against the Giants and now it's this year against the Giants. That's great. He looks like a different player and if this is our QB, then pay the man.

And is Kellen Moore for real?

A perfect passer rating so far in the game

With 4 TD’s to 4 different players plus one rushing TD to Zeke

Does this mean all his issues are fixed?

Of course not, but he is trending in the right direction and showing a huge amount of promise

Funny how that happens when his contract negotiation are still going on

I don't know, I'm scared to get excited on either count as this is like thinking you know who is going to win an election after polling absentee voters weeks before the polls open

for all my criticism of jeri, they have done a lot of things the way I think they should be done over the last few years so someone is reigning in that fucker

I'm so jaded, I just can't and won't get excited until I see them kicking ass in late December. Seems like hot starts lead to whimper finishes and vice versa. Its a long season...

The Giants suck and Eli's done. He's just taking snaps until Jones replaces him this year. But how many times have we laid an egg against teams we should beat? This team is doing what's it's supposed to do against a lesser team and Dak is playing lights out. I have no issue giving the man his due, just as I did at the end of last year and hoped for the best going into the playoffs where he laid an egg.

If he continues to play well, pay the man. But he wasn't worth the money he was asking.

I gotta admit, I really expected to see a lot more rust coming into this game

With Zeke, Fred, Byron Jones, Amari Cooper and D Law all sitting out the entire preseason I fully expected us to come out slow, clunky and look really rusty.

Gallop looks much improved, Dak looks much improved, Cobb looks to be an excellent addition.

Having a large enough lead to be able to rest both Zeke and Cooper to help them ease back into the season in the 4th quarter is a nice situation I didn’t expect us to be in

If Dak has turned a corner and is wise enough to not take all he could get for salary, he'll make it back 5+x via longevity & wins due to fielding a better team

No position has the ability to reap more off the field than QB and no team can yield that player more than the Cowboys

players and their agents need to understand this

You're 100% right buddy. It is a long year but we have to like what we see thus far. Plus they're a young team and even Moore is surprising me. He looks more of a coach than the Red Dolt and just appears to be smarter and way ahead of the curve then when Garrett was hired as OC. This offense looks different all the way around.

Only my thoughts...feel free to disagree.

I have prepared myself to live with Dak's inaccuracy issues, of which there are many. That first TD was horribly thrown and he got some completions over the middle where a receiver had to reach back to make the catch; possibly ruining bigger plays. He was basically perfect today though...But, I will trade this for his winner's mentality. I am all good with this. And him.

My issue that is yet to be determined is: Has his pocket awareness improved so he isnt taking sacks and isnt fumbling under pressure. Obviously today, we havent learned about this. He did throw a few beautiful balls today.

I know the defense basically only allowed 10 points. I dont count the garbage TD when the game was over. But..I wasnt overly impressed with the defense. They gave up huge chunk plays running and passing; and then they would make a critical stop on 3rd down. I dont think the pass rush today would remind anyone of the steel curtain form '76.

# 13 is going to be a star.

Good division win. And Dak just has something in him for winning. Thats why I am okay with some poorly thrown balls.
For the old timers here, Billy Kilmer and Kenny Stabler were the same way. And one is in the HOF.
