Absolutely. He changed his tone drastically in his acceptance speech. Essentially, I wiped the slate clean on him... trying to be positive. If he continues with that type of approach and truly does try to unify people, work across the aisle, not stoke people's fears, and then does what he said he would do, then I would consider it. I really hope he was putting on a big show during the campaign, basically.
Yep, totally agree. Even his campaign ads the last few days before the election were much more presidential. If he'd been like that all along, I think he'd have won by a bigger margin.

The Republicans are more powerful in Washington after this election than they've been since 1928. And its all because of Trump running, and winning. The people sent a clear and powerful message about what they want and expect. The DemoRat party is in trouble because of obama primarily. Its funny how all of a sudden the losers are talking about working together and being unified. They had no interest in that for the past 8 years. They arent in a place to dictate terms or suggest how things go. Trump has a mandate from his fellow countrymen. He should tell the Dims to get on board or go F themselves. The Dims dont ever want to work together or compromise to do whats right. All they care about is pushing and pushing for their agenda. They will never be satisfied or happy or quit their BS until they get what they want totally. Republicans have been compromising with the liberals for decades and it does nothing but makes things a bigger mess. Its time the Republicans take back as much as they can and advance whats right and best for the nation. I say cut the head off the snake. Castrate the Dims and liberals as much as possible. Destroy everything they've worked for. Otherwise any gains made under Trump are just short lived and temporary.

I agree the Republicans are in a strong position and they shouldn't be shackled by gridlock with control of house and senate. But the idea they have some kind of mandate, I don't agree with. They lost the popular vote, and while he may have won a lot more electoral votes than anyone thought he would, the last few states were so close, it could have gone either way.

It's just as likely to flip back to Democrat control in 4 or 8 years. At some point, people need to move past this D vs R bullshit. "They didn't work with us, so why should we work with them?" That's never gonna get us anywhere, because when the Dems get back in control they're gonna say the same thing. Stop worrying about what happened in the past and try to move the Country forward. Is that too much to ask?

I just watched the little video about his 1st transition meeting with Obama.Trump's affect was completely changed.A couple of times when they went to a two shot as Obama spoke, Trump's expression was exactly as anyone's might be, introspective and a touch apprehensive.Nothing brash or abrasive from him in the whole piece.

This all sounds good, but in reality dealing with brain washed liberals doesnt allow for it to "truly" happen. Its all about their program and agenda. They're too arrogant and impressed with their own views and dont want to work "together" like they always yap about. They want to control everything. So because of that Trump should tell them to go F themselves.

The stupidity of the populace is amazing. Why should citizens of a country care about what illegals think about OUR election? I keep hearing about how worried and scared blacks are now that Trump is elected. Stupidity on their part, but maybe it will force them to start acting civilized and face reality.

Im really hoping Trump doesnt pussy up to the masses and nit wits for "unifying" purposes but lets it be known we will be following the laws of the land. We are going to have opportunity for ALL, but we are going to do things legally and in a civil manner. We will deal in facts and reality, not fantasy land and made up narratives. Any violent and destructive protests will be dealt with appropriately.

Blacks should be on their hands and knees right now, elated that Trump is elected. He's going to get rid of the competition for the jobs that they are best suited for. Ringing up my fries at McDonalds.

Canadians are up in arms about the prospect of jilted American's immigrating there. I can't say I blame them. Who really wants to reside next to a holier than thou?

I hope he undoes ACA. We can't afford these skyrocketing premiums and lack of competition in the marketplace. I hope he appoints a good SC justice. I hope he lowers taxes. Some things he campaigned on would be welcomed by me.

But if he goes back to how he acted during the campaign, or tries to build a wall, round up 11 million hispanics, gut the 1st Amendment, doesn't try to cut the budget, including entitlements, etc.... then it's not likely.

There are a few up and coming Republican congressmen who I would love to see run. Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, and Ben Sasse.... members of the House Liberty Caucus. They obviously wouldn't run as Republicans in 4 years... but they've been pretty vocal against some GOP-backed agendas. If the GOP keeps growing government, I could see them running somewhere else. But if the GOP moves more toward smaller government and social tolerance (they need to accept gay marriage and marijuana legalization), then I could be brought back in to the fold.

pretty much why I never gave you shit about supporting Gary Johnson. Impressive and level headed by you. Props.

Just curious, Pep, you aren't okay with deporting people who came here illegally?

My opinion is there are some sticky situations that would be encountered, so it can't be a broad brush approach. For one, anchor babies, I'm not sure how you treat that situation, but it's gotta be addressed, you have to put something in place that doesn't incentivze coming here to shit out a baby.

Maybe the children can keep their status, but get ZERO government assistance? I don't know, but something has to change IMO.

I don't think the R and D labels or old grudges are the problem. If a true libertarian won the presidency with a Dem congress, the libertarian who wanted a smaller government and fewer regulations would still face opposition from the ones wanting bigger government plus more money and control. There are real philosophical differences here.

And honestly, what country would want these looney tunes fruit loops who are all proclaiming they are leaving anyway? What good do any of those slobs and pinheads have to add to anyone's country?

He didn't do anything that wasn't within his enumerated powers.

I think he's on record saying 20 or 30 times he didn't have the power to grand amnesty, then did it anyway.

Did he not?

Pretty sure the Supreme's undid a few of the items Barry chose to do.

Allan Jones, CEO of Tennessee-based Jones Airways, is offering free one-way flights to Canada for Hollywood celebrities who promised to leave the country if Donald Trump won the presidency.

In a video posted to Facebook, which has received more than 600,000 views thus far, multiple celebrities including Miley Cyrus and Alec Baldwin are offered a complimentary flight across the northern border on a Falcon 900 jet.

“All these individuals said that they will move to Canada,” a man identified as “Money Mark” says. “Therefore, Jones Airways will put them aboard this beautiful, luxurious Falcon 900 at no charge for a one-way trip to Canada!”

“You’re not coming back. It’s one way.”

According to Money Mike, the free flight also includes lessons on how to sing “O Canada,” the country’s national anthem.

Despite their promises, not one celebrity has announced their migration from the US following the presidential election.

Stand up comedian Amy Schumer, who vowed to leave the country if Trump won the presidency last September, announced Tuesday morning that her comments had been a joke.

“First of all the interview where I said I would move was in London and was said in jest,” Schumer wrote on social media. “Not that anyone needs more than a headline to count something as official news.”
