I haven't did the homework to see how accurate, but a post in CZ said we already had a little over 4 mils to play with, and today they're working on restructured deals for Sean Lee and Scandrick. The Scandrick deal was expected to free up an extra few mils. Am guessing this would put us somewhere around 7-8 mils or so under the cap.

Virtually any of the backup QB's they'd pursue would be veteran minimum with incentive type deals (maybe a little more) but wouldn't be costing several mils per year.

Hopefully this means a deal for a potential pass rusher might be in the works.

I doubt it. The last few years we have cleared up cap room right around this time and did absolutely nothing with it. I think Stephen believes he gets to keep any unused cap room.

Arnt teams allowed to roll some amount of unused money? Thought I read that last year or the year before.

And stop raining on my parade. I want the team to acquire a legit pass rusher. Please let me have some optimism.

Yes, they can rollover a certain amount. I can't remember what that amount is, though.

They should be redoing contracts to max out the cap and pay some money now so they'll be some later.

Yes. I can't wait to sit out free agency aka "be smart in free agency" and sign next year's version of Benson Mayowa aka some team's third stringer.

Cowboys are 4th in line on the waiver wire right? Maybe they are clearing space in case they have to claim a QB off the waiver wire instead of waiting for him to clear waivers.

Maybe, although some of the more expensive ones (like Sanchez) are probably vested veterans and don't go through waivers anyway. They are immediately free agents.

They'll also be needing money for some of their guys. I think Collins' contract is up after the 2017 season, they might want to extend him early. Z Martin is obviously a huge piece that we really cant afford to lose.

In addition they have to think about what to do with free agents like T Williams and Brice Butler.

Martin will get done next off season. A decision on Collins will have to be made next year too I believe. Someone will pay Williams so I don't see them keeping him. Butler if he has a decent season would likely be resigned. He'll be cheap.

Keeping the OL together is a must, especially considering they're grooming a young QB. Doing that though is going to cost them quality depth. They better get their shit together when it comes to the draft. They have to stop throwing away 2nd round picks. They are going to need to find them another WR, and TE within the next couple years in addition to building their defense.
