I'm sure Jerruh isn't listening though:

Daryl 'Moose' Johnston: Johnny Manziel 'would really struggle' in Dallas

Count Fox analyst and longtime Dallas Cowboys fullback Daryl 'Moose' Johnston in the camp of those who think adding former Texas A&M quarterback to the five-time Super Bowl champion would be a disaster.

The "risk far outweighs the reward with Johnny." Johnston said in a talk with TMZ.com. "He would be a huge distraction."

Johnston, who played for the Cowboys from 1989-1999, knows what it means to play in Dallas-Fort Worth. He won three Super Bowls with a star on his helmet, which didn't hurt his shot at a broadcasting career either. He sees that kind of national exposure as a negative for Manziel.

"If he's having trouble away from the field in Cleveland then he would really struggle in Dallas ... the spotlight is so much bigger."

What about Robert Griffin III, the other Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from Texas that appears to seek a new destination?

Johnston sees the current Redskins backup QB as "a much better fit than Manziel."

Trust me, Johnny has been a self-destructing jackass since coming into the NFL. I get the hesitation. Still, the risk is minimal. If Cleveland waives him, the Cowboys (or any other team) could claim him and inherit his current contract....

2016 - base salary and cap hit of $1,169,872
2017 - base salary and cap hit of $1,294,808 ($1,004,125 is guaranteed)

so $2,173,997 is guaranteed. That's the risk. We paid Matt Cassel $2M to suck out loud last year.

They can always let him clear waivers and then try to get him to sign a cheaper, incentive-packed deal but it will still probably end up in the $2M range.

I'd rather have RG3, but I'm guessing he will get way more than $2M.

We will see Johnny football with a star on his helmet in training camp this coming season guaranteed

Jerry feels he HAS to do something about the QB position and what better way to show the world that he's got a good head for football then to pick up the player he really wanted in the first place.

Ever since Jimmy said that Jerry just writes the checks Jerry has been clambering for a way to prove he has football smarts and isn't just the bankroll

This is the perfect opportunity to show everyone that he knows better than his entire staff and that they should have listened to him and selected Johnny football in the first place!

Plus we all know that Jerry is not opposed to taking players with demons and off field problems. He's done it since day one. And to be honest some of those problem players have worked out well. So Jerry just sees that dealing with the problem players as part of everyday business. So johnnys off the field problems and attitude is just something that Jerry feels he can fix

in the past, no one ever called for the backup QB when Tony played like shit. that would change if you brought Manziel or RG3 in.

Except tony never plays like shit. The 7 straight losses is proof enough that tony is stuck over-improvising in an archaically predictable offense. Shits gonna happen when you're playing coach and QB.

Lets not get carried away here, everyone knows he has had some shitty games. He had an atrocious game vs Carolina this year.

Its not something unqiue to him, all QB's have some bad games here or there.

Imagine what this season might have looked like with Manziel on the roster having been drafted by Jerruh. The Boy would have had to play, and might have ran for 1000 yards. Does he lose 7 straight? Or does he get us in the playoffs?
