I hope they are smart (eh, its Jerry so I guess I can forget this) and don't waste late rd picks on scrubs like Ceasar Rayford, Edgar Jones etc etd this yr. I'm all for them getting better, but if they are going to use picks then use them smartly on guys that can actually do something to help the team.

QB- Romo & Weeden. Vaughn is an interesting developmental guy, but he isn't worth a spot on the 53 this yr. I don't think there's any real concern with someone signing him to their active roster either. People are pissing and moaning about Weeden, but Weeden looked fine when he played with the starters. The OL he played behind last night didn't give him (or anyone else) a chance

RB/FB- Murray, Dunbar, Ryan Williams. I'd see if someone would give up a late rd pick for Randle, even if it was a conditional pick. I wouldn't keep Clutts as a FB. He misses on more blocks than he makes and doesn't appear to add anything whatsoever to special teams. If it comes down to a 4th RB or FB I'd pass and keep on an extra WR, because both Byrd and Newsome are vastly better football players.

WR- Dez, T Williams, Beasley, Harris, Street and either Byrd or Newsome. I think both Byrd and Newsome have done enough to make the team, and certainly should warrant getting a late rd pick for from some WR desperate team/s if we arnt going to keep them.

TE- Witten, Escobar, Hanna. Could see us adding a 4th TE that's a really good blocker if they don't keep a FB

OL- T Smith, Leary, Frederick, Martin, Free, Bernadeau, Weems or Parnell. I think they will add two or three guys from other teams here. Not even sure I would keep Weems or Parnell at this point. Other than Bernadeau none of the backup OL currently on this roster can play worth a shit. I'd be looking for backup swing OT and another backup swing C/G for game days. I'm not sure Bernadeau is good enough at C to play a lot there if Fred got hurt.

DE- Selvie, Crawford, Mincey, Spencer, Lawrence, Boatright (maybe). The team is stupid IMO for counting on Spencer and using a 53 spot on him without seeing him play a single down, and I guess Lawrence may be headed to the IR but able to return spot. Might be a spot or two here and if they were smart they'd aggressively be trying to get another player here.

DT- Melton, Hayden, T McClain, Coleman, Bishop, maybe Minter. Hayden is a waste of a roster spot and should be replaced, but probably wont be. T McClain and Melton didn't play a single snap in a preseason game, not sure what we will get from either of them. This is another position they should aggressively be hunting for real help at.

LB- Durant, R McClain, Carter, Wilbur, Hitchens. Need a 6th, I'd look to other teams cuts for help. If they don't then maybe Cam Lawrence makes the team

CB- Carr, Claiborne, Scandrick (I am not sure if he count on the 53 or not, I was thinking he didn't while suspended), Moore, Patmon, T Mitchell.

S- Church, Wilcox, maybe Heath. I wouldn't keep Heath, but they are idiots so they probably will. I'm not sure Dixon or Ryan Smith warrant a roster spot but one or both might make it if they don't pick up someone else (or two). This would be another position they really need to look hard at a veteran add IMO.

ST- Bailey, Jones, LaDouceur.

So I have 46 for certain, at best 49/50. I would think minimum we'll see 3-4 new players here, maybe as many as 7. The fact that there are genuinely 7 or 8 roster spots without somewhat obvious players here speaks volumes about how poorly stocked the overall roster is. If the team were good and had decent depth, maybe there's 2 or 3 spots you need to look outside for. We really need 7, maybe as many as 10.

Further, the fact that so many players being counted on to play significant roles here have hardly practiced at all speaks volumes about how lousy the culture is with this franchise. I know a few of these guys have had legit injuries, but this is every year that this happens. You don't get better as a team if 20 guys never practice. Look at our defense, Melton, McClain, Spencer, Lawrence and Claiborne missed virtually all of training camp and didn't play a single down in a preseason game. Selvie missed a lot of camp and hardly played in preseason.

Its really a fucking pathetic joke the way this team is run.

Nobody's ever said that. He will be GONE to someone else's practice squad if Dallas exposes him to waivers.

They have to keep Ryan Williams and Randle. There are only a few assurances on the team: Romo, Dez, Murray and Witten. They either have or will hit a point where Romo needs to have the running game move the chains. Murray could carry 30 times a game until he is injured. But that running game necessity begs for a feature back kind of replacement for him, which is Williams and not Randle. Randle can still handle ST to preserve Williams but ultimately both Dunbar and Murray are only penciled in to last the whole season. To prepare for their demises, Williams needs to be on the team.

I don't think it works that way.

If somebody claims him, he doesn't go to their practice squad, he goes to their active roster. I think he has to clear waivers and then he's free to sign with any practice squad.

Yeah Vaughn would have to be put on an active roster for another team to be able to force him to leave the cowboys. If he's just going to be out on a practice squad then he has the choice. And since he took $5k less to play for his favorite team, I doubt he chooses to go somewhere else.

That's good to know, thanks for the correction. I seriously doubt any team except Dallas is going to have him as second or 3rd QB on the 53.

Cowboys have made a trade with Tenn for DE Lavar Edwards. Gave up conditional 7th rounder.

Boatright a surprise cut. So far I have seen Briscoe, Watson, Nwaneri, Boatright, on the cut list for DAL...

Steelers claimed BW Webb off waivers.

Dallas released 2 of this year's draft picks (Will Smith & Terrance Mitchell). All three Smiths among the cuts. Byrd and Williams both cut as well.

Spencer activated off the PUP list.

Zach Minter & Phillip Tanner also cut.
