I see it hasn't taken long for dbair to revert to homer mode

Bottom line - Callahan calling the offense scored more points than any Garrett offense except the one where Sparano held his hand. Getting rid of any Garrett offensive influence seems like the right path. I'm all for a new OC. I just don't want another Garrett crony because we've seen that doesn't work

Yeah Callahan sucked but he was better than Garrett. Not really any way to dispute that. Look at the results

Nothing homer about it, its the truth

What is the truth? That the Callahan offense, while still kind of shitty, scored more points than a Garrett controlled offense?

Yes, that's true.

I seem to recall reading that Callahan's offense was better at was red zone efficiency. It was worse in 3rd down efficiency.

Garrett's offenses have been awful in the red zone except for the year Sparano held his damn hand.

Yes, that's true.

Its also true we forced way more turnovers and had a vastly better OL, I suspect that had a FAR greater impact on the number of tds scored than having Callahan call plays.

This is pretty laughable Booze. Some of you keep saying it, even though all reports said Garrett tore up Sparano's playbook, completely redesigned the passing game and called all the plays in 2007.

Then you have the fact that Sparano was a failure as an offensive coach in two other places after he left here.

Not really sure what "hand holding" there would have been. I think the 2007 offense was really good because 1) the OL was outstanding 2) Romo played extremely well and threw downfield with a lot of success and 3) we had a lot of really good players

Why do you defend Garrett, dbair? He's been a failure as an OC

Are you really satisfied with what he has brought to the team from an offensive standpoint?

He's average at best

Have you not read my posts the last year +?

I've said numerous times he should be fired.

He's like Hostile.

I don't defend Jerry <furiously defends Jerry>

I don't defend Garrett <furiously defends Garrett>

I haven't defended either in a long time. You must have an issue with reading.

All this, prior to Tony's back surgery results. Which of course were known to the Cowboys staff, but not by us until the week 1 debacle vs San Fran.

Remember, they kept saying Tony was "100 percent" even as late as week 3? Of course they knew better than that.

Again - Linehan looks like a genius today because Tony's back forced their hand, they had to transform into a smash mouth, run-first team, to try to limit danger to Tony.

That it actually worked of course surprised no one - except Linehan, Callahan, Carrot Top and Jerruh.
