No, no. Much better to pay Romo $16 m and Spencer $10 m and then lose at least 1 of them next year and then have to overpay the other with a franchise tag to stay. That's the much better plan.

Yeah, because we absolutely HAD to franchise Spencer this year.

We did that, then pushed guaranteed money into future years just to get under the cap. In a year when the free agent market was as tight as it's ever been no less.

What would've been wrong with NOT franchising Spencer.... letting him test the (weak) market, and if he gets an offer we can match and we're too god damned scared to field a defense without his all world skills, restructure only as many deals as neccessary to fit him under the cap?

The lack of state tax alone likely would've caused him to want to give us a chance to match.

And whats wrong with playing Romo during this last year of the contract, then franchising him next year if a new deal isn't worked out?

Our lack of cap space has been an issue all off season. Hence the # of restructures we've done.

There's a reason we were scrambling to do that, while not many other teams have.

Also, we have a number of holes on this team, and we're at Spencer and Romo's mercy to address them in anything other than the draft (which, we currently don't have the cap space to sign anyone btw).

Just because you want to keep your head in the sand and declare this isn't a problem doesn't make it a problem.

Thanks to pushing guaranteed money into future years. Piss poor cap management. This has been covered.

So you think letting Romo play out this year with a 16 million cap charge and letting him walk next yr would be wise?

Or are you saying you'd let him play this yr with the 16 million cap charge, and wait till NEXT year to resign him, even though we need the cap space to add players and get better this year?

Either way, I think you are making a pretty lame argument.

Have you just not been paying attention or have you missed the cap situations of the ravens, patriots, giants and more?

Happy trolling.

Yep, we've noticed you are happy with trolling. You do quite a bit of it even though you make an argument that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Keep up the good work amigo!

So we'll be in this same position 2 years from now with Anthony SPencer and trying to unload his contract? Great.

Wow! You mean perrenial playoff teams and recent SB winners have cap problems?

Go figure!

How many teams struggling to be 8-8 each year are pushing guaranteed money into future years for mediocre players?????

Could we have signed Andy levitre, Winston, Wes welker. Some of the top players available that could instantly improve our team most notably our offensive line

No. We are talking about huff and Moore

To argue that we have can do what we want and sign who we want, means you are currently unemployed and have a lot of free time

does this mean no physical?

Do free agenst normally take physicals before signing? I've heard of players doing this when they are coming off major injuries but not regular free agents.
dont know, I guess that is what he is implying.

You're right. I missed the memo that announced the Franchise Tag is unavailable next year.

Or are you saying you'd let him play this yr with the 16 million cap charge, and wait till NEXT year to resign him, even though we need the cap space to add players and get better this year?

Why are we so tight against the cap this year?

Oh, that's right.... because years upon years of mismanaging the cap.

Either way, I think you are making a pretty lame argument.

I remember when the Giants weren't eliminated by week 17 last year. Those are hardly the only teams doing the exact same thing we are.

I remember when the Giants won two Super Bowls recently.

And you're wrong.... most teams in the league aren't having to do what we do. Especially losing/mediocre teams.

Keep reaching/trolling.
