Remember in 2009 when we ran this quite a bit? And really, it worked fairly well - we averaged almost seven yards a carry with it. Then we never saw it again.

Looking back on it, what was behind that? Was it Jerry insisting we do it?

Seems like it, considering what's gone on the last few weeks. Plus it doesn't seem like a Garrett thing to do.

Not a big deal, just something I've wondered about and finally posted.

I don't remember it working well for us.

I remember Choice would take the snap, and run to the left.

Every. Single. Time.

I think the reason we stopped using it is because we let Choice go. He was the only back that ran it.

At least I can't remember any other back using it.

Now, was there a reason we only ran it with TC? Or is that just a coincidence?

Truthfully, I dont' see a lot of teams using the wildcat anymore.

The reason we used it was because Choice looked good coming off the bench that they wanted to have a role for him.

Johnathan Franklin will run it for us next year.

But that's how innovative our genius offensive coordinator is. That he rips off of Tony Sparano and slaps a different name on it.

Run right, Run left, Romo pass it to someone.

Plays 1 through 3 of Jason Garrett's complete playbook. Play 1 and 2 are usually ignored by the 2nd quarter and it was all that no good bastard Skip Peete's fault.

Yet he's too advanced for a simple play-action call. A flea-flicker? lol forget about it, that's Pop Warner stuff.

A fad that quickly became extinct.

The pistol offense is now in vogue and will no doubt try to be emulated by some teams especially if San Fran wins. God help us if Jerry gets a whiff.

That was pretty much all from a single run. I wanna say Washington game where Choice went for like 60 yards.

The other 9 times they ran it that season it pretty much did nothing.

Was just thinking the same. I don't recall Choice ever being effective.

Think that was Oakland if memory serves.

Well, I got those numbers from a googled Jonathan Bales article that said we ran it 16 times that year. And several of those were inside the 10, which obviously limits your yardage potential.

But the point wasn't even about that. It was who had us run it in the first place. Doesn't seem like a Garrett thing, so I'm betting Jerry. But that's just an educated guess.

Of course it was a Jerry move. At least it better had been, otherwise Jason is dumber than everyone believes.

There's a reason why Peyton Manning didn't take a breather so his team could run the Wildcat.

It's a fucking joke to take the ball out of your QB's hands while also limiting your ability at the WR position (by motioning your QB into that position).

You decrease your ability to pass and receive. No person with two nickels of common sense would do such a thing. Didn't Dallas even name their's something different than the actual "Wildcat".

Because teams caught up with it, just like they'll catch up with the latest gimmick

And also because if you hav a RB take a direct snap and your best player is the QB, you are doing the opposing defense a favor
