We've already tabled the Jimmy/Jerry relationship. That isn't what I asked.

Either answer the questions I've asked or shut up.

My question destroys your world, which is why you won't answer it.

ok you've got nothing.

I never said Jimmy didn't count.

I'm saying there's a chance they're all telling the truth.

Exactly.

Thanks zrinkill.

You guys are so fucking terrible at reading and formulating responses that I have to redirect you to the actual topic 50 times before someone formulates something resembling rational thought. That's not trolling that's called leadership, z-bot.

Your Hostilian approach of cherry picking, redirecting, and replying with short sentences to fit an agenda would work a lot better here if we didn't actually all clown on Hostile for doing the exact same thing regularly. Ironic that you keep bringing up z-bot. He'd be the only person brainless enough to support your delusional stance. You should be begging him to join this thread.

Junk's post (which was ignored since you're trolling) was legit.

Jerry paid Parcells millions and went out of his way (for the most part) to make his stay comfortable here. Parcells left on his own terms. Campo was just happy to get a shot. Gailey actually was pissed to be fired, and he stated it.

Since these dudes--and Jerry's word--are the main foundations of your argument, it might be time to rethink who's being rational here. Don't make a shitty argument and then expect much from the replies.

Amigo friends 4 life still even though you're a terrible troll. :bffs

My argument is maybe we should like...idk...listen to what people say, and not just cherry pick the things we want to listen to from 20 years ago and assume everything is still the same because it fits our preconceptions (from 20 years ago). Your argument is lol troll. Thanks zbot.

SP.. could you explain how Jason Garrett went on record as saying its in the teams best interest for him to continue calling plays, to it suddenly being his decision to relinquish playcalling duties immediately after Jerry took his hiatus?

You can honestly sit here and say that you belive Jerry?

Give me a fucking break.

I'd have to see those statements in context I don't recall them off the top of my head.

I actually bet Jerry is a great guy to work for and a great guy to play for. I even think he's probably genuinely well liked and respected (at least a businessman). You never hear former players say much about him because he treats them well and, I think, really cares about his players. Maybe too much....which we see when extends Ratliff, hangs onto a guy too long, etc.

I do think the "walking on eggshells" thing is telling though. I think Parcells probably made it pretty clear up front on that plane in Jersey what he would and would not be doing. I think Jerry just sort of had to grin and bear it to get the team back in contention and drum up support for his stadium. I mean, that is basically what he said in a drunken stupor.

And I do think they probably do a lot of things by consensus. And I think the guys who is most convincing or gets Jerry's ear last probably has the most influence on his decisions. However, he has no clue how to build a football team. That is apparent as time goes on and he switches coaches, schemes, players, etc. The team has no real identity.

You need some acrimony in a front office. In Holley's book (The War Room) he talked about how the GM and the higher level scouts would constantly grill and challenge the lower level scouts to be sure they got the best information from them.

And as far as Garrett.....of course Jerry wants him to succeed, he picked him. He desperately wants to be known as the guy that picked up this former Cowboys back up and molded him into a successful coach. I wouldn't be surprised if, after the season, he really felt that changing play callers was a good idea (and it is), but between now and then, Garrett worked on him a bit and he's changing his tune.

Good post. (Rare in this thread.)

All joking aside, I don't think there's any fighting, either. I think Garrett gets to do pretty much whatever he wants with the team but he also knows that Jerry is the boss. And if Jerry wants to step in, Garrett realizes he's in no position to dictate terms to the man who gave him a chance and signs his checks.

So Jerry steps in and calmly says Jason, I don't think this defense is working out. We're thinking about bringing in Monte Kiffin. What do you think about that? And Jason agrees that's fine with him.

That's a big reason Jason got the job in the first place, and a big reason he's still here.

We have 1 playoff win in 18 years but let's talk about what a great guy Jerry is.

That's what counts, right?

I can show you how many playoff wins we've had since all of Jimmy's players left.

ok deepthroat produce some evidence that shows everyone's been lying for 20 years.

the point is that they lie so frequently and unashamedly (see: Garrett press conference where he said he has no problem with Jerry giving him instructions on the sideline during a game in progress) that we have no idea when they are telling the truth. as a result, nothing they say can be taken seriously. for that, they have only themselves to blame.

Funny how ginger went from absolutely not giving up playcalling to "embracing" a new playcaller in the span 2-3 weeks.

Which is it, Ginger? Opposing viewpoints from the same person. Yeah, we're totally not being lied to frequently :rollseyesbluestartrollthread
