I'm 50/50. If he could do well with Hasselbeck, then he might be ok here.

Problem is that he's not a long term solution, and the less number of times jerry is hiring a coach, the better...

What do you think the odds are that Holmgren comes in as an offensive consultant or something? Similar to what they were going to do with Reeves?

I think Garrett has really struggled, but I'm not sure Jerry pulls the plug yet.

So you want Callahan, Holmgren and Ginger to all do the job of one coach?

Or you want Holmgren to come in and hold Ginger's hand?

Makes zero sense, so it's probably what will happen. I doubt it will lead to more wins though. Gameday management is still atrocious, and Andy Reid is proof that experience and age don't really ensure that it can improve.

Probably not. Jerry will make him "punch the clock" and Holmgren ain't gonna be havin' nona that.

I don't want it to happen. I don't think I even phrased it that way. I simply asked what people that the likelihood of that happening would be. Does it seem feasible with this screw up of an organization? Yes, in my opinion.

I don't get the Callahan coaching cred though. His resume isn't all that impressive to me.

I will help you out with this.

Coaches for other teams = overrated bums
Coaches (or strength and conditioning guys) we sign = kingmakers

Same deal for players:
Players we sign/trade for/draft = awesome
Players we don't sign/trade for/draft = awful scrubs

see dbair circa 2011 for confirmation on these guidelines.

My hunch is that whole thing was driven by Garrett. I think Wade wanted to bring Reeves in to mentor Garrett, Jerry agreed to it, Garrett complained and then they proceeded to run Reeves off.

Hiring Reeves would have been a huge boon to Garrett.

Of course it was spin for the media, but the bigger point is, what will the spin be next time? And what will fuel it? And why will the lunatic let it happen yet again?

Wasn't trying to imply that you advocated the idea. Our point is the same though. The organization would be even more of a circus if they just keep trying to patch these holes up.

1) Garrett can't coach the receivers? Lets bring in jimmy.

2) Garrett can't do shit about the oline? Lets bring in Callahan

3) Garrett just sucks overall? Lets bring in Holmgren to babysit.

4) No reasonable TE development since Fasano left? Lets bring in no one cuz we don't want Judd to be homeless.

Yeah, can't see Holmgren as a consultant to Garrett. Their offensive systems aren't even the same.

And besides, Holmgren would probably go nuts knowing he could do the job so much better himself than the guy he was trying to help. I suspect that's what happened in Cleveland.
