A pro-bowler isn't absolutely necessary at any position. Teams have won without pro-bowl QBs, RBs, WRs, TEs, etc. on down the line.
If you think he's going to be a pro-bowl type OL and you're faced with picking between a pro-bowler at a position of need or a player at a different position that may or may not pan out, I'm taking the pro-bowler.
Hmmmm...
Interior line play has been a weakness for this team for years.
We can't get any push on short yardage run plays and Romo is often pressured up the middle and has to do an Irish jig just to get the ball off.
DeCastro helps solve that.
He's a no brainer at 14.
Yeah, I don't see how that is hard to understand.
I mean, we won 3 SBs without a pro-bowl player at many positions, but if you have a choice, you take the pro-bowler or potential pro-bowler in this case.
Lemme guess, those who don't want us to take Decastro want Barron or Cox? We've not been able to hit on a Safety since Woody and you think we'll get this one right? You think Cox won't be another Spencer? The no brainer, money in the bank pick is Decastro... Now do I believe he will be there when we pick? Hell no.
How would Cox be another Spencer He plays a completely different position.
And yes, I'd tak Fletcher over DeCastro. He's the only one likely to be available when we pick that I'd take over DeCastro.
Again, overvalueing a pick because it fits a need.
lol at the Larry Allen comparison. DeCastro isn't going to be man-handling people at the next level. He gets by on athleticism, hustle and positioning.
I'd probably take Kirkpatrick over DeCastro too.

I didn't compare him to Larry Allen. I was exemplifying how having a pro bowl guard is a massive addition to the team and using Allen as that example.
If you had read the thread, though, you would already know that.
Then why did you inject Larry Allen into the discussion?
And I am sure Bob read through a thread that is barley 3 pages. lol

Larry Allen is a hall of famer, doofus. He wasn't some run of the mill Pro Bowler that DeCastro might end up turning into.
You would have been better served mentioning a guy like Carl Nicks, or Jahri Evans.
btw, Emmitt was doing just fine before they drafted Larry Allen. So your argument...probably not.
lol
Will you still laugh when DeCastro's phone doesn't ring when the 15th pick starts?
I'll make you a deal. If we do take Fitzpatrick over DeCastro, I will call you Jerrah for a week.
