Wasn't the defense fresh on those first 3 drives? Shit were they tired after 5 damn plays or something?

We scored 31 points. We had over 400 yards, a ton of first downs and more TOP than GB. We didn't lose the game because of the offense.

Doesn't matter how fresh your defense is if your players suck. Let's get some some elite defenders in here (not some other teams spare ass 3rd stringers) and see how this defense performs.

Jeez Jason.

Did we not all watch the same game?

Way to sum up the yards and point total without regard to how GB were just given the ball in the first half to go ahead and score 21 points but in the second half (mainly the end of the third going the fourth quarters), the offense started finally going back to just managing down and distance and getting the short pass involved. Yes you are right that Marinelli was not successful early on but later in the game the defense figured it out. The Heath sack/fumble would have been Praise for the defense saving the game from a terrible offensive game plan for 2.5 quarters. The Heath interception that was nullified by a bogus petty call on Brown would have been the defense again.
The issue in the first half was that the offense was giving the Packers chances that they should not have had - the same flaw from the 2014 playoff game. Dallas needed to run the ball and limited the possessions which the offense failed to do. The point is that something changed with the defense when Dallas had longer surges and scoring mojo. I think they were fresher or hungrier not outplayed.
Dallas had more success and the Packers had less time with the ball. Are you telling me that the game plan was to flounder trying to throw distance and just speckle non-sequitur running plays for 2.5 quarters before deciding to play the ball and clock control game in the 4th quarter for the win?

The defense lost the game dude. Again, 31 pts scored by your offense in a home game you are favored to win should be enough.

The un-tired defense gave up 3 straight TD drives to start the game, none of which were short fields or the result of turnovers. The defense then gave up an almost uncontested TD drive to start the 2nd half (again, un-tired) after we had sorta got back in the game.

Was the offense perfect, no. Was it the reason we lost, absolutely not.

We need an influx of pass rushing DL and coverage DB's in the worst way. Fix that, and even with the Red headed boob we have a team that should legitimately contend for awhile.

What's the scoop on Charles Harris from Missouri? Is he more of a DE or LB? How would he fit if he's the pick at 28?

Yeah, I'd say the offense was to blame for the loss just as much as the defense. In fact, it's no surprise our mediocre defense would get shredded by one of the best QBs of all time, but our supposed great offense should have been able to destroy the Packers just like the Falcons did and more or less keep up.

Almost reminds me of an NBA game where a team is down 30, then scores a bunch in the fourth quarter and loses 130-125. You can say you only lost by five, and you should win any game you score 125 in, but that doesn't take into account the flow of the game.
