That's exactly what I'm talking about mid.

I'm doing significantly better than my father. I wouldn't say I've jumped classes or anything but things are alot more comfortable for me than they ever were for him. I've gotten lucky, and now I keep meeting people who are making things even easier on me. My advancement has had VERY little to do with hard work. It's like 90% some mix of luck, opportunities, networking, charisma and luck. 10% hard work. So I can have empathy for poor people who will never in their life have the same meetings and opportunities I've had, for whatever reason. And I don't imagine that they could just get out of it if they just tried hard enough, because the poorer you are the less opportunities there are and the tougher it is to change your lot.

What I cannot understand is people who are barely above the poor class (and if you're making 100k or less, yeah you're barely not poor) who want to oppress them further? Have these people never picked up a history textbook? Social and economic progress is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS fueled by one thing and one thing only - the education and empowerment of the oppressed. Whether the oppressed be women, minorities or the poor, the best way for ALL of us to do well is to make sure that our least fortunate humans have every opportunity to advance that they can. And of course that is different for the wealthy - empowering the lower classes means that they might get a smaller piece of the pie, so they understandably try to curb it.

But for the middle class, our fate is directly tied to the poor. The ignorance of the middle class oppressing the ones they should be trying to help is mind-numbing.

Yeah, that's what kills me when I see middle-class people driving around with Mitt Romney stickers on their vehicles. Motherfucker wanted to raise your taxes!

People just look at their life and peg themselves into a political hole, "hey, I'm middle class, I should be vouching for Republicans." without really looking at the larger issues.

I may ask fuzzy to induct me into the modern Whig party. Is there a local chapter?

What the nuts are you babbling about? What does your networking and key parties have to do with finishing high school without having a kid ?

AND ANOTHER THING

if you make the same amount of money as me, and have a couple kids, you are paying less in taxes than I am while being a much bigger drain on the system. So fuck your complaining. And fuck your whining for vouchers, and "keeping more of your money in your pocket". Like the 3 grand in federal taxes you payed because you know how to procreate is enough to pay for school of any sort. give me a fucking break.

when we all pay for services we all need, they are more affordable.

The problem with your position on these issues is that you assume that everybody wants or needs
these services that want people to pay for. Many people prefer to keep their money and spend it on their wants and needs instead of giving the money to the government to blow it. There is too much waste and mismanagement by the government and you support giving them more. Government
spending is like a bottomless pit. I trust myself to spend and manage my money before trusting
congress.

welcome to living in a community, ******. can people who don't use roads not pay for their maintenance? should we charge for use of roads on a per-use basis? god help what that would do to the price of all of our goods. do any of you ever think before you take these idiotic positions or do you just want to start paying for every public service you use? because I promise you don't have that kind of money.

it is almost infuriating the complete lack of thought you people put into your political opinions.

I have no problem paying for what I use. My life doesn't revolve around government services. I also don't buy into the government bailing out these "oppressed" people that you cling to. What is wrong with them bailing themselves out? This country wasn't built by people that expected the government to give them everything. When did it become such a bad thing for people to help themselves? This "all for one and one for all" agenda that you push would work fine if everybody made efforts to improve themselves. In reality, a certain percentage of the population are not willing to help themselves. Yeah, those are the people that you want our tax dollars to go to.

In reality, your political stance boils down to you want to be a selfish little bitch. You imagine the 12% or whatever you payed on your shitty 30k salary is way too much and if the govt. would just let you have that little extra money you could send your kids to private school and buy magical healthcare that would be insanely cheap because of reasons.

We live in a community, shit-for-brains. That means sometimes, we have to put money in the pot that will never be used on us, personally. So that we can have things like roads, and police forces, fire departments and public parks. Because if we had to pay for those things on our own, the cost would be absolutely outrageous, and none of us could afford it individually. So we *gasp* SOCIALIZE these services, and life is better for everyone.

jesus tapdancing christ fucking satan in the shower, think for once in your life. Your stance makes absolutely no sense. You sound like a selfish twat.

Call it what you will, but at some point people have to be accoutable for their actions or in some cases inactions. Yeah, you really have it figured out. Keep them sucking on the government tit. That gives people real motivation to better themselves. I help alot of people daily, but it is my damn choice as to the ones I help. I help people that can't help themselves, but at the very least make an effort. I sure as hell don't trust the government to make decisions on these matters. Some of the basic services you mention are valid. I won't argue that point. Anything beyond is a total waste. Socialism sucks ass.

So who is going to decide which stay and which go? You? So we keep only the services you're interested and using and everyone else can fuck off? Who is defining "valid basic services"???????

Like I said - you and your brethren's political stances boil down to one thing, and one thing only. You are selfish fucking cunts. And not a one of you will take two seconds to look beyond your own fucking nose and realize that there are people in the world other than you, who have different needs. And we're all part of the same community. So sometimes you're gonna have to shell out money for shit you will never ever ever use. In exchange, you are able to use things like roads, parks, and public services free of charge. That's life. Deal with it.
