Romo got hurt despite being in-shape and a full participant in training camp, so ....

As for Dez, the dehydration thing can be blamed on Camp Softy, but not the foot problem. Non-contact injuries happen all the time.

The probability for Romo sustaining a pressure, a sack, some pain or an injury was very high because of anyone paying attention would notice a play that was so typical and predictable for that situation that those of us who were fans were concerned and those on the Eagles were completely foaming and ears pinned to attack. There are formations that have not changed in years but the talent to pull off success in those formations has drastically declined. Despite dbairs insistence that the team is more talented now, at WR they are the weakest and least talented they have been in years. This is a passing offense that is enforced by Jason's only stronghold that Jerry has no opinion (passing offense) and it's kind of important to have freakish ability in speed and or physical dominance at the #s 1, 2 and 3 WR spot but depth as well for injuries or more targets. So to go to a formation with little or no protection in the backfield or little deception that would slow the defense from pinning ears back and flying at Romo coupled with the Streets and Williams non-threats, there was a good chance Romo was going to be pounded.

It continues to be an issue....

With 14 players on injury report, Dallas Cowboys alter practice schedule

With 14 players on injury report, Dallas Cowboys alter practice schedule | The Star-Telegram

Notice how last week, tons of players missed Wednesday, which not coincidentally is the hardest practice day of the week. In some ways it's the only "real" practice day they have anymore.

And then a bunch of them came back for Thursday and Friday, which is basically a walkthrough.

No coincidence the team performs like crap when this happens.

Yes it is. But I think he more than proved last year that he's fine skipping it. Plus he has a legitimate back issue. A lot of these jokers are just trying to get out of practice whenever possible IMO.

Troy (on NY radio) just questioned why Tony didn't practice yesterday when he's had two months off and needs all the snaps he can get.

That's a fair question. Didn't he practice the first week on Wednesday but then went back to skipping the next?

It does almost seem like superstition at this point since it worked so well last year.

Either that or he and/or they have very legit concerns that his back wont hold up.

Maybe, but like bb said, it's kind of weird he didn't do it this week. I mean it's not like he's coming off playing a game.

Plus with Thanksgiving four days later, he won't get a day then either.

Probably doesn't matter, but still kind of interesting.

Garret's excuse/answer was because they wanted to get him back into his old routine which was to rest his back on Wednesdays

But after being off for two months the last thing he needs is rest

Garrett should have done everything to mitigate the rust factor and had him practicing to get his timing down
