You heard the "Michael Jackson is great" stuff straight from the Seahawk announcers, who were horrible. He's had one yr as a starter in the league, has one career interception and has already been on 4 different teams.
Fehoko can't catch a cold, and that's why he will never amount to much.
Herbert is going to be sensational for the Chargers. Trevor Lawrence looks like a bonafide franchise QB. Both of them are already way ahead of Prescott in my book. The others you named I wouldnt even remotely consider taking ahead of Prescott.
The Martin thing is a real dilemma. Trading him is not a horrendous idea if you could get real value for him, but he'll be 33 and plays RG so there's almost no way you'd get enough to warrant doing it. Tunsil (whom you mention got two #1's) was a LT in his prime. Huge difference in value to a team.
The Rams were a fluke who have gotten nothing but bogus call after bogus call since they moved back to LA. The league had to justify the money they put into the stupid idea of moving them back there (people already dont give a shit and I bet in 2 more yrs they will struggle to even fill half that stadium) The Rams HAD to be relevant and the league did everything they could to help make it happen. They didnt deserve to win the Super Bowl they won, nor did they belong in the other one they got to.
In regards to Jaylon Smith, he did the highly honorable thing by playing in a bowl game that ultimately didnt matter. Then had a catastrophic leg injury that ruined him. He was clearly going to be a top-10 draft pick that yr (and my most accounts, likely a top-5 pick) so it had a huge impact on the money he made. He was an outstanding football player at ND.
33 isn't old for an OL. Martin offers flexibility as well. Martin is simply the better OL.
Regarding Fehoko. This is why I wrote that I think he only needs more time. More reps. Just because "he can't catch a cold" now doesn't mean he can't by midseason with enough reps. He has the tools.
Write to me after the season if the other guys I mentioned are not considered better than Dak--especially Tua (if he stays healthy). I wrote,
by the end of the season.
You may not put those guys ahead of Dak now, but you very well may by the end of the season because Dak has flaws in his game that I think will show up over the course of the season if McCarthy can't cover them up. I am not convinced Dak will take to a West Coast offense that requires quick decision making and short area accuracy.
And, yes, I did hear it from the Seahawks announcers, but 3 points.
1. Even when he was in Detroit the Lions were impressed with him.
2. INTs aren't everything for a CB. Some of it has to do with who else is playing around you and if the DL is causing pressure.
3. Even though those announcers might be biased, as our announcers, announcers are not prone to use hyperbole only to have their own fans trash them (they like to keep their jobs). They are usually moderate in their descriptions to avoid embarrassment. And those announcers likely got it from Seahawks insiders. Just as our announcers do.
