Actually, Goff is a fit or a least for Kelly's NFL version. It's what he thought Bradford could be. Progress quickly, distribute the ball. Butttt, Kaepernick seems as close to Mariota as there is, regarding size, skill, and ability.

I guess he *could* fit to what we've seen Kelly do in the NFL. But I don't think that's what Kelly wants to run ideally. His zone read run game needs to have a QB who is a run threat.

I'm fine with either. Some teams are going to have their preferences. Right now, Kiper has Lynch higher, while Rob Rang has Goff (way) higher.

They probably need to look at QB just as much as we do. And just last year there was all those rumors about them trading up for Mariota, too.

Didn't SD just extend Rivers too?

EDIT: 4 yrs, 83 mil just this past offseason. Dead cap hits of 18 m in 2016 and 13.5 m in 2017 if he's cut. Goes down to 9 m in 2018 and 4.5 m in 2019.

Plus, he'll only be 34 next season.
