If he didn't have all those shortcomings that Dooms crows about, he'd probably caught 160 passes for 2500 yds and 30 tds a season

How many WRs last year put up the kind of numbers Dez did, while having an RB with nearly 400 carries?

Last year was a charmed year for lots of Cowboys players.

Nobody argues past numbers. We're talking how he does need to improve, in some very specific areas.

Hey - great, elite receivers make scrub quarterbacks look good. Same way great, elite quarterbacks are Kingmakers, making scrub receivers like Miles Austin look good and good ones like Dez, all-world..

We meanies who knew there would be a huge dropoff in his production - injuries and QB play notwithstanding - KNOW his faults and foibles. And also know he is the type of personality who WILL just fucking slack off now that he got his big check. And also know the coaching and ownership will allow it.

WTF?

Until this year he had gotten better every year. He got injured, a BAD injury that needed surgery ON HIS FUCKING FOOT.

This post here of your's Dooms is classic TROLL man.

No, had you said that you would have no argument. You said he was "great" and he is not.

Like Laz said, what do all these NFL people and players know right?

But you know. You are smarter than them.

You don't recall there were several of us here talking about expecting a dropoff when he got the big money? The foot injury was unfortunate and also losing Tony was, but for whatever reason, the dropoff happened.

Perfect conditions next year maybe?

They know to talk nice in the press and on TV, but laugh at him and throw up 'the X' when he drops passes and gets stuffed.

They also know when the play coming is a run or doesn't involve Dez, he leaves the huddle early as soon as he knows it's not his play.

ALL "great" and "elite" receivers do this, no?

Not the only one.... But then again all of those had great years. That isn't what makes them great players.

Wouldn't expect you to know the difference.

Yes, school us all again Dooms on the art of punting on first down
When your idiot argument gets stuffed, deflect by bringing up a lie about one of mine. I never advocated for a punt on 1st down. I pointed out a college that actually does it on occasion, and posted hypotheticals about why possibly they would.

We quick-kicked on 1st down once when I played, in a very specific situation. It completely flipped the field, and the game for us.

Now, back to dez. My point is, he has some areas needing improvement. He's not getting there because the coaching in Dallas is terrible. This is not in any way saying he sucks or is a JAG. It's telling it like it is, he DOES have some critical areas needing improvement.

That's all. No one's picking on him.

shit, if the Skins win next week, they won't have anything to play for in Dallas.

Back to draft in 2014. At pick #146 in the 5th round, we selected WR Devin Street, who so far has made more bad plays that good ones in two seasons and was finally benched yesterday.

At pick number 164 in that round, Cincinnati selected Alabama QB AJ McCarron, who won his first career start today on the road and helped Cinci clinch a playoff berth.

Meanwhile we have a clusterfuck for backup and future QB position, and the guy we drafted instead of McCarron is a zero.

In addition, McCarron was a life long Dallas fan who had dreamed of playing QB for the team someday.

Bet he wins a bunch more too

Looked servicable to me. I took note, they didn't water down or dumb down the playbook or play calling for him either. Don't know yet if that says more about him, or that coaching.
