The NY sports media believes Romo will play the second half because Dak will struggle. Of course, they are assuming the Giants beat the Packers and they just might if their D plays well and the Packers' D is exposed by the Giants' wide receivers.

I can see Garrett blinking if Dak is a dud in the first half and bringing in Romo. I just don't know what to expect. It's insane and I think we need to take advantage of our positioning and get to the SB. Otherwise, it'll be a huge let down for me.

I got a feeling the ease with which Romo moved the team for a score on his only drive gave a lot of people in the FO and coaching staff, all kinds of ideas. Hell, probably gave a few of em wood.

I'd like to see us fall way behind just to see if Jerry's old ass can still make it down to the sideline to "inspire" the team like he used to. Not sure his replaced hips and other parts can still get down there.

Personally I prefer Belicheats death stare as motivation. You know, do your job and dont fuck up, or I'll cut your ass, I dont give a shit who you are.

Its been refreshing not see his sorry ass down there sucking it up for the cameras

If Dak is struggling then I don't see why you'd allow a relief option to stay on the bench in an elimination game. Anyone who can help should be used in the playoffs.

I agree but who knows what will happen? And I'm not even sure it's Garrett's decision anyway. I just don't know how to take Dak at this point. Obviously, I'm super glad with our record. But I just can't commit to Dak being the franchise QB yet. I just can't. I keep thinking some DC's are going to figure him out eventually and he's to inaccurate to make them pay. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if we had a losing season next year with Dak at the helm nor would it surprise me to see him keep winning. It's really insane.

So, no-one has any confidence in Romo were he to play?

It was hard no to be impressed with drive he had vs Philly. On the other hand as bad as I want to win the SB, I dont want anything messing with Dak's head, and I dont want whatever trade value Romo has to be obliterated on one hit. I just have zero confidence in Romo's aility to take a hit. Also when it comes to Romo you trade big play for bad play, and in the 12 quarters he played in 2015 about 10 were bad. That Romo could show up again.

As I was reading this thread yesterday, I envisioned Dak somehow suddenly couldn't handle it, and needed relief.
Enter Romo, the team gets fired up, and Tony throws for a couple hundred yards and a couple TDs. We're almost caught up, down in the red zone. But Romo can't bring himself to throw the ball up in the third row, spins out of pressure, and rifles the ball downfield straight into the arms of the opponent.
Is that fair?
Probably not, Romo's comeback numbers are pretty good. Still what popped into my head, though.

I don't worry at all about messing with Dak's psyche. If there's one thing that I'm totally confident in with him it would be that he could handle Romo coming into a playoff game and move beyond whatever hurt feelings he has for the rest of his career.

Personally, I'm with UVA. You put it all on the line in the playoffs, and if we fall way behind and Dak is struggling, I would pull the trigger.

It would be nerve-racking to watch him out there (as its always been) but injury withstanding, he appears to still have plenty in the tank and there is no way Dak can compete with his experience, reading of the defense, etc but Daks other attributes appear to be enough to make up for this. I just hope the competition of the playoff coaches and teams isn't too much for the rook and ends up leaving us wondering how Romo would have done in a 3 game season.

totally fair, I really like Romo but I hate that he is so stubborn about giving up on a play when its called for

Funny, I remember all the times he drives us down the field to win on the last possession of the game.

That's happened a lot more often than an interception.

What do you think they should do, keep rolling with Zak or bring Romo in?

Too bad 80% of the games he's played in have come down to the final throw/drive.

Can we get a little defense late in a game, 2007-2015?

I kinda hope Dak gets hurt. Romo looked great on that drive last weekend. It's not hard to see who gives this team a higher scoring ceiling.

Honestly I don't think it'll ever come down to that. Dak will probably play very well just like he has all along.

If we do lose -- which I don't expect -- I think it'll happen late in the game on a close play when it's too late to change QBs anyway.

But no way do we get blown out badly enough to consider a change.

I would love it if it was fourth quarter of the SB, final drive, Romo spin moves out of pressure and forces an ill advised pass which gets picked off and he's drilled on the int return breaking his back and clavical again as Garrett claps moronically in the background.
