I don't know about you guys, but for me, it used to be that in the past going through a season like this, a season heading nowhere fast, and looking at the core talent level that we have, I used to be like, "ok, all we need is for this to work out and we need to add X and X through the draft and free agency and we'll be alright."

I just don't see a way out of this one, fellas.

I don't know if it's watching the same results under 3, different coaching regimes, me growing naturally cynical by the constant emotional beatdowns this franchise has given me, or the shiny blue clouds at long last giving way to the realization that Jerry hamstrings the franchise, or what. When I think about it long enough it seems to suck everything out of me.

Does anyone feel the same way? Is there a way out?

Big name Head Coaching hire, less Jerry.

Although I think now that the Sean Lee injury will be a big part of the excuse to keep Garrett around another year.

Oh, Red was coming back regardless. Even a putz like Campo got three years. A "quality" head coach working under Jerry is like a Rolls Royce with no wheels.

Will it matter if there is an open-door avenue for the players to the owner?

I know everyone says that and history shows that as well, but I really think Jerry is getting less and less patient. I think he knows this core has very little time left. It's not like Garrett hasn't given him enough reason to make a move either. Games are so close, so tight in the NFL that you just can't afford to lose (multiple) games due to coaching gaffes.

It's gotta be a name big enough to bench Jerry. I've said it before, someone like Gruden who gets Parcells type power and gets to name his own GM like Pete Carroll and Jeff Fisher did.

Otherwise, no.

We're not delusional, we should be alot better because we really are a talented team. Yeah we have weaknesses, even the best teams do. We just continue to underachieve and shoot ourselves in the foot and be dumb nonstop.

So yeah it's kind of hopeless. Until that changes it doesn't really matter who we draft or pick up in free agency. So it's tough to be like "oh yeah if we get disruptive DLineman oh man we are gonna kill." No, he'll probably play well, show off his talent and we'll still be improbably mediocre.

But Garrett is his hand picked Golden Boy who's been groomed for the top job, and his family has long ties to the Cowboy organization. As such, Red's leash will be longer than say Wade's.

Parcells fan or not you'd have to agree that he changed the direction of this franchise. No?

You won't find a bigger fan of Parcells than me, but even then, I sensed that players had a roundabout way of seeing Jerry.

But say we get a Jon Gruden in here and he receives carte blanche. How long is he going to function like he should before Jerry tears the walls off of him with his constant needling?

Then what happens when he leaves and Jerry thinks, "oh, I got this.", again?

We get 3 years of hope and change and then it all goes right back to shit.

This season broke my back. I'm naturally optomistic, and I've thought us a serious contender every year since 2005. But yeah, this year broke me.

I honestly feel like we're a doomed team until there are major changes at the top - and that mostly means Jerry.

Unfortunately, that won't happen any time soon (his fucking mom lived to be 90 ffs). And since he has a stadium, he won't step aside and relinquish power to anyone.

His entire family is consumed with marketing the circus that is our football team.

I just can't bring myself to quit this addiction. Yet.

Call me a bandwagon fan, but I that if the Tennessee Vols made strides in the right direction and quit being a bag of dicks program, if they were annual contenders in the SEC, I'd give the Cowboys significantly less attention that I do now since they are pretty hopeless with Jerruh at the helm.

I'm seriously considering going to a bbq on Sunday rather than watching the game. I'll record it and watch it later.

This never would have happened if Jason Garrett was still alive.

Even if Jerry dies though this franchise will be handed down from generation to generation of Joneses.

Does anyone expect Jerry's kids and grandkids giving up never having to work a day in their lives?

I agree with this. This Dallas team is very talented. I just dont think the team buys into Garrett. Alot of people like to bag on Jerry and fault him. But the guy has really rebuilt this team in two yrs. Sure they dont have probowl players at every posistion. But theyre really young and improving. Costa and Livings will be players. Maybe not probowl players but good players. Tyron is barely 21 yrs old, hes going to be really good. Free i think his struggles have more to do with the weak player next to him. Thats been everybodies gripe the OL. Costa since coming back from his injury looked really good. OL will be fine.

To me the biggest problem this team has is preperation. It just seems like they arent prepared on gameday, plain and simple. Garrett is a bad HC. Thats really not Jerrys fault thats Garretts. Jerry isnt going to up and change a coach during the season unless the team and fan base were on the verge of mutiny like with wade. Unless this teams make a turn around this will be Garretts last yr. Book it.

You all can say what u want but this team is strong talent wise but weak in terms of being prepared. And very weak being coached.

This is a big problem for me because I don't see Jerry making the necessary moves to fix this. I honestly believe we need to blow this thing up.

I'm talking new coach
New quarterback

And starting from scratch. I don't see Jerry having the balls to start over. I honestly feel like Jerry would rather be mediocre every year than start over and rebuild. I think he's afraid of hurting his pockets.

I don't think this team has a chance, none whatsoever, with this core...

It's very gloomy feeling like we have no chance and that the only possible solution, isn't even a real possibility.

BOOM! headshot.

But you're right, what sucks is Dan Snyder of all owners came to the realization that you have to eventually scrap everything and rebuild from the top down. Jerry; however, is still fighting the good fight against bad Jerry.

Doesn't seem to matter who the coach is. At this point we've changed them so much and seen absolutely no change when it comes to playing DUMB football that I'm convinced this isn't something that can be fixed by a coach. No idea on how it could be fixed.
