Then why did they go 3 years straight of missing the playoffs before this season?

You mean they didn't go 12-4 in 2008 to win the division? They were also 10-6 in 2010 but missed the playoffs on tie breakers. Over those three years between Super Bowl wins they have gone 30-18 (.625).

and yet they were 9-7 this year, barely got in the playoffs and became the first team in NFL history to reach a championship game despite giving up more pts than they scored

they deserve props for winning the Super Bowl, but they are a mediocre team...wont be any surprise at all if they miss the playoffs next year

What did 2011 teach me?

That this team is mediocre at best and that we need more of a pass rush besides Ware.

Our secondary isn't as good as some thought. Our interior OL was horrible most of the time.

We had plenty of chances to win games we lost. Poor coaching decisions and poor decision making on the players part cost us those games.

Also that a shortened off season can take a serious toll on a team.

And after 17 years this franchise hasn't improved under Jerrah's watch as GM. (of course I knew this before this season ended.)

I could think of a lot more to post but will refrain from doing so.

'12 in the NFCE will come down to the Giants and Eagles. Of course the Cowboys could be in it until sometime in December.

Good teams have rough stretches and in the NFL that alone can knock a team out of the playoffs. They overcame their mid-season struggle and finished the season beating the best teams in the NFL. You can try to play them off as a mediocre team but mediocrity does not go on the road to beat Green Bay and San Francisco then beat New England in the Super Bowl.
