@ Edwerderespn tells us he believes there is still a chance that Jason Garrett could be fired as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

I have "heard" this too. Supposedly, Jerry still speaking with/about Gruden to his inner circle.

I just hope my source isn't playing a prank on me.

Jerry is just pissed that all these other teams are prepping for the playoffs while we're sitting on our asses. He'll cool down in a couple days and things will return to status quo.

He wants to be part of the boys club like this is a frat house, and also wants to blow enough smoke up fans asses so that they continue to find a reason to be interested in the team.

I figured it out....

Jerry is going to give Jason an ultimatum.

Have someone else call plays - something Jason has been adament about not doing - or you're out of the job.

If Jason is our head coach next year, it's because he relented.

Sound about right?

Jerry is still very intrigued by Gruden.

Gruden supposedly telling people he's waiting to hear on "one job" before considering others.

Put those two together and...

This is exactly why Gailey was fired. Jones asked him to stay as HC, but wanted someone else as OC after his scheme was failing. Numerous Cowboy players complained about Gailey's passing game, including Aikman. Gailey refused to hire an offensive coordinator, and he was then canned.

I'm glad Gailey was fired. That season where Irvin had only one touchdown (against a shitty Philly team) was ridiculous. The next season he catches 3 but suffers a career ending injury.

So he wasted a year of someone who was there long before he was and was the heart and soul of the team. And for what? Because he partied a lot? Didn't read his bible 3 hours a day.

Yeah Gailey was a fucking idiot, not sure why so many Cowboy fans resent the fact he was shitcanned. He's been a massive failure everywhere he has been and his offensive system is garbage.

Any fuckstick that takes Michael Irvin off the field on 3rd down in obvious passing situations and uses the likes of Billy Davis and Jeff Ogden in his place is a clown. It shouldnt even be argued about.

bc he made it to the wildcard round or something. Apparently winning between 8-10 games and losing early in the playoffs is the new standard of excellence for our fanbase.

As an aside, could you imagine how reinvigorated the fanbase would become if he was able to bring in Chip Kelly, Saban, Gruden, Cowher, etc? It would just be nice to not lose games due to coaching. It might also help Romo to not have to come from behind in 77% of games if we have better coaching out there.

I doubt Jerry would work with Saban, and vice versa. Saban would want too much control, and would detest all the media access.

Chip Kelly is too much a risk, being a college guy and all with a gimmicky offense, adn we'd have to revamp our entire offense.

But while I haven't been a huge 'bring in cowher/gruden' guy previously, I'd jump at it now if it meant the clown show left Dallas.

Every coach Jerry has hired was given at least three full years to prove himself. I don't think favored son Jason will be the exception.
