LONDON WARRIORS ROOKIE SIGNS FOR THE DALLAS COWBOYS
Posted 5 hours ago

The Dallas Cowboys have signed British player Efe Obada to a contract even though he has played just five games in his short amateur career with the London Warriors.

The 22-year-old Londoner was spotted by Warriors defensive coordinator Aden Durde, who served as an intern coach with the Cowboys last summer. Durde has spent the past six months working with the 6-foot-6, 255-pound Obada on playing defensive end or tight end when he arrives in Texas for the NFC East team’s rookie mini-camps in May.

Obada currently works as a warehouse storeman for Grace Foods in Welwyn Garden City on the outskirts of London but is trading in his 40-hour-per-week job for a shot at NFL stardom.

“This is a dream,” said Obada, who didn’t even begin playing American football until he joined the Warriors for the second half of the 2014 season last summer and helped them win a national championship. “It’s amazing and life-changing. It’s a major turning point in my life and feels like a movie.

“This could be it – I can change my life. This is unreal – this doesn’t happen to people like me. I’ve never even been outside of London since I arrived in the UK.”

Obada currently lives in the town of Stevenage, just north of London.

Check back tomorrow for Neil Reynolds’ full interview with Efe Obada.

Yeah, cause there really isn't much difference between the two positions ....

So, is he a possible special teams player or is this a pure PR move? (The NFL lusts for Europe almost as much as it lusts for Los Angeles)

Take a look at Courtney Lawes.. 6 foot 6, 280 lbs. That guy is a freak athlete over there who belongs in the NFL.

Did you hear Mike on the Hardline yesterday talking about Sid Finch?

Ha, yes, I don't usually listen to them but I was in the car and caught most of it.

I actually kind of remember that when it happened -- pretty funny,
