I don't know about that Booze. Jerry wants the Patriots offense, the Seahawks defense and Romo to be more like P. Manning. That sounds like a Super Bowl to me. Why in the hell can't they be the Dallas Cowboys and play their own brand of football?

We can't play Dallas Cowboy football because our owner/GM and practically everyone in a leadership position in this organization has no idea what their brand is. That includes even Garrett.

He supposedly wants to run, but won't demand the line to do that. Jones twists in the breeze with whatever coach he has because he doesn't have the mental capacity to have an idea what his team should do. I think Garrett thinks this RKG thing is something new, but practically every team wants hard working players. There has to be something else to push the philosophy other than gosh darn it trying like really really hard.

There is a reason guys like the Rooneys, Mara, Biscotti etc. are good owners. They have established what "continuity" really means. It is not keep the same people around. It is having a program that is predicated on doing certain things well and sticking to that plan.

A lot of people think "identity" is nonsense. I disagree. It is the biggest issue we have had since Johnson left. We aren't a tough team, we aren't a finesse team, we are whatever we are that year at that time. There is no organizational direction. We aren't an "offensive" team like the Patriots. We are not a "defensive" team like the Ravens. We change it from year to year and draft to draft. It is a mess.

The last time we seemed to be establishing an identity was when Parcells was here. I even remember at the time, teams like the Giants were saying how tough we were, how hard we played and they did respect us. Then Parcells said F this and Jones tore it down so he wasn't walking on eggshells anymore. Had we kept with the program Parcells tried to establish, instead of going full Cupcake, we might be better off.

I was feeling homerish today.

Not anymore.

I don't ever feel homerish. Booze has done a great job explaining why. I don't see how fans can go full homer when every bit of common sense shows that this is a F'ed up organization. I get a kick out of the CZ homers. They are the best. They allow Jerry to make a fool of them on a daily basis and they come back for more.

Spot on. I can't tell you what a Cowboys offensive lineman looks like. Mobile and athletic? Sometimes. Big, heavy in line maulers? Sure, a few of those might work. Zone blocking or man scheme? Eh....we'll do some stuff.

I really don't get the move to the 4-3 other than Jerry saw Chicago and Seattle play this year and decided he wanted that. Never mind that the team had been drafting for a 3-4 all these years, suddenly the team is better suited to a 4-3.

Also seems like they've been dumbing down the defense forever.
