Watkins: Cowboys sign two linemen

Cowboys sign two linemen
February, 11, 2013

By Calvin Watkins | ESPNDallas.com

The Dallas Cowboys signed guard Charlie Bryant and defensive tackle Nick Hayden to their reserve/future list on Monday.

Bryant (6-8, 320 pounds) was waived by the San Diego Chargers before the start of the 2012 season.

Hayden is a 2008 sixth-round draft pick of the Carolina Panthers. Last year, Hayden (6-4, 292) was on the Cincinnati Bengals roster and reached an injury settlement with the team on Aug. 31.

These are the types of roster players you can get used to because our cap situation prevents us to do otherwise.

Hmmm. Signed a guard and a Dlineman.

Clearly this paves the way for us to draft a skill position player round one.

And with the 18th pick of the 2013 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys select, Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee.

this is what every team does in feb and march. you have to get guys in your building so you can get acclamated to them and them to you...they participate in the offseason weight program and they participate in the mini camps and OTA's in april and may. You need 82 guys if i remember correctly for tc so its nice to have them in the building already long before july.

standard procedure and has absolutely nothing to do with our cap, draft or actions in free agency.

I mentioned the same pick several weeks ago. Jerry is all about the "wow player".

But as Theebs points out, it isn't unusual this time of year for the team to engage in a bit of roster churning.
