This is heresy, but...

I do not and will never understand an offense (like Garrett's--and many others) that doesn't take every opportunity to help itself succeed. Why does Garrett hardly ever use play action or any other type of ball fake (other than the draw)? I think RG3 is a star in the making, but every play in Shanahan's offense sets up several others and makes his QB's job a lot easier. Romo's skill and athleticism is perfect for play passes and boot action. Instead, the Cowboys line up in the I and Romo passes from a straight seven step drop. I don't get it.

Well I waited till yesterday to watch it, without any audio and just watching the plays it's different.

I think we played hard in the first half, got the worst game of witten's career and then had breakdowns all over in the second half.

I just think Seattle outplayed us. They had the lead and the momentum and they used it and pushed us around, just like we have done to people, like buffalo last year and Seattle ironically in that second half.

If we connected on some of those plays early it might be a different game, then in the second half we just couldn't stop them outside of that first drive.

Sometimes u just lose. I didn't see the give up I thought I saw watching the game Sunday. Team was stunned a bit and played poorly but I think the effort is there.

And we are an 8-8 team, Seattle was 7-9 and they got better at linebacker and added another runner.

The dissapointing thing is that they had sweezy and omiyale playing and we couldn't take advantage of it. That's concerning.

I honestly think we will bounce back this week.

just to be clear, I am talking about the effort of the players. I think our coaches are pretty average and we really dont do anything that gives us an advantage from week to week. But I do think I was wrong in initially saying the effort wasnt there and that the team didnt give a shit or whatever. I think seattle just beat us.

Theebs

What did you think of the oline?

struggling.

I thought livings was fine, but I think mack struggled this week and free and smith struggled.

Ryan cook got picked up and put in romo's lap on one play also....havent seen anyone mention that yet!

Hopefully this line can settle in at some point and be consistent...its like right now they are taking turns making mistakes....

I think we are trying to use play action but we have two problems with that.

we dont run the ball that well and we cant pass protect long enough to use the play action enough. I thought we used it more last year than in the past.

I imagine the more we run successfully the more we will run play action......

This team has big issues...

Can't run
Can't pass block
Can't pressure opposing QBs

Still time to fix some of these issues but these are the Same main flaws from last season

Also VA

Last year we started using this slot right two tight end set.

Its a running formation. We have run it every week. Against the rams in the preseason this is the play that we got the big one to harris on. Against ny we ran out of this and threw underneath.....

sunday we hit the TD to austin out of it....check it out here is the all 22 of the play.....

with Two tight ends in blocking and murray, only two guys out in a route....romo still got hit....murray didnt put up a good block and romo just barely got the throw off.

8 guys blocking and he almost gets killed....answers the why dont we run play action more....until we can run and block better its like asking to make a negative play.

Good stuff Theebs.

Further emphasizes my sig.

We really, really need to dedicate a draft to the trenches.

Not saying reaching, or taking only OL/DL... but it needs to be a major point of emphasis.

Screw the "don't take guards in first" mantra.

Tyron Smith better be a beast

Bc JJ Watt is a mothefuckin killer

I think he will be fine but to think that he can step into the position that he rarely has played and not expect some growing pains is dumb.

We had no choice but to draft Smith but you are right Watt is a beast

I'm not saying smith wont be a beast

Not even saying there's a problem

Im just saying that Smith has to be a beast bc WAtt is unreal right now...he's already a top 3 5 Tech in the game.

Carter woulda got caught by whoever that bottom WR was pretty quickly. But good stuff Theebs, this is why we're #1.

As for watt when he sucks on a play it's not like its that noticeable. Hell donkey kong Suh made a name for himself with a few highlights and not a ton of tangible production.

Watts tangible production is off the charts right now

3 sacks
5 pass deflections
8 tackles

Through 2 games. That's pretty nasty for a 5tech

But who gives a shit. I like Tyron, and I think he will be very good.

Why ist anyone talking about all the dropped balls that would have easily changed the complection of the Seattle game?

Wittens dropped ball up the seam was huge.

Dez also dropped a huge pass that would've given us a 1st down inside the Seattle 20.. Nex play was Romos InT.

At the end of the day, the entire team had a day off. Pretty sad

tbh in game 1 tannehill kept throwing the ball directly at Watt's face. I'd still love to have him.

I need to pay for that all 22

It's useless trying to figure out what's going on with this team without watching it...

Just saying that a positive Tyron play doesn't jump out at you. On like 70 drop backs vs JPP and Chris Clemons he's given up what? 12 pressures?

8 tackles

In 2007 we ran that stretch play and play actioned off it like the Manning Colts used to all the time.. I don't know why we threw that play out of the playbook because we got a lot of big plays from it. Maybe that was a Sparano thing. But it worked.
