You could also get on Twitter, or send an Email to whichever analyst/media/former player, etc you want.
Do a survey.
As them who is better.
I guarantee it 99% would say Aikman, no hesitation.

And to further emphasize, I'm not downing Romo. Other than Staubach and Aikman he's the best QB we've ever had. But I dont believe he is a better player than Aikman was (or Staubach). That doesnt mean he isnt excellent in his own right.
Romo is leagues better than Staubach or Aikman. It's just the progression of time. Programs are more intense, competition is more intense at every level. The athletes are bigger, stronger and faster but the field is the same size. The windows are tighter. Better anticipation and accuracy are required. And yet here is Romo playing QB at a higher level than anyone ever has for this franchise.

But if Staubach and Aikman were in their prime in 2012, and also had the advantage of the same off-season programs and conditioning, why couldn't they be better than Romo?

I enjoy whatever tool in this thread used HOF as an argument when Romo's career is far from over. I hope nobody even entertained a reply to that "argument".
Also, thanks to whoever it is that keeps deciphering Aikman's statement like he's some autistic non-native English speaker. The guy has had a few concussions, but he's not clinically retarded. He actually knows more about what he's saying than anyone here does.
He dropped deuces on the franchise for that Roy Williams trade, and if you go to CZ on any Sunday when he's calling a Cowboys game, you'll see tons of peeps whining about he's an extreme non-homer. The guy isn't just pumping sunshine up the organization's ass all day.
He could have merely supported Romo (like it was pointed out that Staubach did for Quincy), but he said something beyond that for good reason, even though it hurts the Romo haters feelings.

Switzer was just a figurehead. A novice to the pro game, he wisely let the assistant coaches run the show. Galloway didn't dub him "Insignificant Sideline Personnel" for nothing. I don't care for Garrett at all, but he's a lot closer to a real head coach than Switzer ever was.

Do you have some magical stat that takes all of the previously mentioned variable into consideration? The stats that have been used so far cannot account for scheme, teammates, or rule changes. If you want to use passer rating as a measure of a quarterback's greatness you have to consider Romo as the 2nd best quarterback of all time, and that is laughably dumb.
