** Players were in shoulder pads and shorts for the afternoon workout. They have a two-a-day on Wednesday.
** The special teams' portion of practice focused on field goal and field goal/punt block. The first-team defense took part in some of the drills for the first time in camp with players diving onto a mat and blocking a volleyball.
** David Buehler went 6 for 6 on field goal attempts, although his 45-yarder scraped the top of the left upright but was still good. His other makes were from 28, 36, 52, 34 and 42 yards. He is now 11 of 12 in Oxnard practices.
** Pat Watkins returned to practice for some individual drills after missing two-plus weeks with a knee injury. Watkins wore a brace but when the team drills began he spent his time working on conditioning on a side field.
** Rookie safety Barry Church intercepted two passes and deflected another. He made an excellent read on a Jon Kitna throw to Martellus Bennett on the goal line, but the quarterback has to know he can't double clutch a pass and think he has time to squeeze the ball in there.
** Only one Razorback play of the day and it involved a fake handoff from Tashard Choice to Felix Jones, who was coming in motion. The speed of Jones opened up a little crease for Choice in the middle of the line to pick up positive yards.
** Kevin Ogletree had one of his better practices of camp. He took home a deep ball from Jon Kitna as he ran by Mike Jenkins and later caught a slant from Kitna. He also had a fade route catch from Romo for a TD. His best catch, however, might have come on a crossing route in which he plucked the pass away from Teddy Williams and tucked the ball away before it could be poked free. He had a difficulty with that earlier in camp.
** After throwing a touchdown pass to Sam Hurd in red-zone drills, Kitna playfully taped Keith Brooking on the side. Later Kitna wanted a pass interference on Brooking for tripping Martellus Bennett on a route. Just the way for veterans to get through camp.
** Roy Williams had a productive day, too, catching a deep ball for the second straight day by getting fully extended to haul in the Romo throw. He also was a little feisty with linebacker Jason Williams, whom he felt held on to him a little too long on a tackle.
** Montrae Holland had a nice combo block while pass protecting on the aforementioned Hurd touchdown. He blocked down on nose tackle Jay Ratliff but was able to come back to his left to pick up Igor Olshansky to give Kitna time.
** While Bryan McCann was not able to stay with Williams on the deep route, he was able to break up an out route to the wide receiver from Romo.
**Rookie safety Danny McCray forced a Choice fumble after the running back had a nice catch on a swing pass and headed to the end zone. McCray met him at about the 3 and knocked the ball out of bounds. After the play Choice told McCray he made a good play.
