What a great article. And what a great quarterback we're soooooo fucking lucky to have.

And to think, most dumbass Cowboys fans want to run Romo off, while they slob Jerry's cock every chance.

damn impressive, man I want him and Witten to get a ring or two

I firmly believe that had he played for virtually any of the other franchises in this league, he would have one by now. Maybe not Oakland. Maybe not Washington. But you know.... there's a lot of teams out there without the dysfunction or the coaching shit shows this guy has had to put up with here. It's a shame what his legacy will likely go down as, if he doesn't get a ring. And I really really hope he does. Same with Witten, like you said. Two HOF players that just do things the right way.

Yep, Its sickening...I wish Parcels had hung around a few more years and I think they'd have one. He made a huge impact on those two guys careers, how many other players might he have developed.

I'd love to know exactly how/who determined to make that damn Roy Williams trade, if they had traded for Boldin, they would have kept their 1st round pick and had a great receiver. That whole deal looks like a jerri, swing for the fences wildcat move that still pisses me off. When Parcels left, you could tell jerri jumped in and started playing fantasy football again and with that came their rapid demise

At least now the organization is valuing the trenches, showing restraint with the salary cap, etc, etc so I'm not without hope but time is running out fast for those guys

Not other franchises, other head coaches. Dallas has had the pieces for a while, just need someone to manage the games. It's kind of the most important part of the difference between the winning and the losing.

It's funny, I used to say Romo at times especially in the clutch, was careless and cavalier with the ball. That he didn't seem to take this at all seriously enough, always yuk-yuk on the sidelines even (especially) as another loss ticks away. I also complained about some of his stupid habits such as, unbuckling his chin strap after every play - I'd reasoned this was stupid, unproductive and was just one more thing he had to remember to do, pre-snap. I used to say he looked like the Boy Who Made Good never growing the heck up. Of course, I got lustily lambasted for voicing these observations.

But now? All of the above stuff is gone. No longer do we see yuk-yuk, we see him studying on the sideline. He lost the habit of unbuckling his chin strap after every play. He is now not nearly as cavalier and careless with the ball. (He calls it 'reactionary.') It is obvious and now confirmed by Tony himself in King's article, Tony needed to take a step back and really re-evaluate himself and begin to take this a lot more seriously. And he has. His attitude used to be, "Let's go out and have some fun" now it's, "Lets go out there and do a JOB."

I also believe his back injury helped him in this quite a lot. He's said before, it made him have to re-learn everything - including such mundane tasks as getting into and out of bed. What he was already working on now became necessary not just, a good idea. Last year's performance shows the results pretty clearly.

This is all the source of my own opinion of Romo, turning around. He corrected the things I complained about. Credit where credit is due, he re-made himself and it takes a hell of a man to change. And in doing so, changed my opinion of him.

Glad to see this being acknowledged now. Romo changed. He got better where it mattered most. That's all I ever asked for.

IIRC, that trade was all Garrett. Phillips was against it, but Jason needed another receiver and the front office gave him what he wanted.

There was talk about how when Detroit got all those picks for Roy, their GM was clapping with his feet or something stupid.

That trade was Jerry. All Jerry.

I'm sure yes men were involved as usual but Jerry handled it. Stephen did negotiate Roy's extension as part of the deal though.

I remember being stunned hearing he had a new huge deal before even setting foot on the field.

A lot of guys were stealing money back then, seems like thats changing, hope the sting of bad deals resonates in every deal they negotiate going forward.
