This defense isn't even close to being great. That's my point. It's good. That's it.

and it could easily be better, thats my point

it isnt because Ryan is coaching here the same way he did in Oakland and Cleveland, only with vastly better players here

This team generates absolutely zero pressure without blitzing. Not easy to play that way. Great defenses create pressure without blitzing

Been saying since 2009, maybe a year earlier, the offensive line is garbage and has been complete trash ever since.

if anyone believes the line will be addressed anytime soon, you're dreaming.

you think Jerry(die cunt) is going to replace his franchise tackle Douglas Free? How about a young and improving(wtf?) Mackenzy Burrito? The team is anxiously waiting for Phil Fucking Costa to get better.

No.

Yeah, I don't see any indication anywhere that we'll suddenly give consideration to the line or revamp it.

I mean, we brought in Montrae Holland, Derek Loper, and Derrick Dockery in for workouts.

Holland was the clear better of the three, but he wanted playing time incentives or something like that, so Jerry said nope.

Holland is still out there.

Tweeted this yesterday:

Wish I could help. I've had other opportunities but I'm hoping to finish career as Cowboy. I have a lot of respect for JJ and that uniform.

He's still working out:

Still on the grind at Lecharles Bentley Oline Academy #TeamAntiCouch

But no... we're going to keep our fingers crossed that Callahan can turn chicken shit into chicken salad.

I dont get all this holland love.

If we sign him on thursday the guy will be lucky to make it to halloween before he is injured.

Am I saying Holland is Larry Allen?

No.

But he'd definitely be a significant upgrade over who we currently have.

Have you seen Mackenzie Bernadue play?

Also, reports were when he came in for the workout, Holland looked to be in the best shape he's ever been in.

And worked out vastly better than Dockery and Loper. Then we signed those two because we didnt want to pay a performance/playing time incentive

They remind me of the 1983-86 Cowboy teams. Talent in spots, but not enough to challenge for a championship.

All of this is on coaching. Ginger doesn't even know when to challenge plays. I know for sure that he has zero input in ST and defense preparation. He's a very limited HC who can't adjust around weaknesses. He also does not have the experience to evaluate talent.

Ginger is a Romo-created legend just like Laurent Robinson.

OL, OL, OL. If you cannot see it, please find a playpen and a juice box.

This team cannot run block effectively, and cannot pass block effectively. The only question is who is going to get killed first, Murray or Romo?

Finding 4 good linemen is too much to ask, well get 1 new guard next year and like it .

But getting a Bruce Irvin rusher type to infuse some holy shit into the rush would go a long way.

They pinned them down to the 5 twice and couldn't get off the field. They lost by 24 but the teams are pretty close, they just had every big play go against them.

Don't need 4, draft 1, sign another - 3 players can cover for 2 others. But you can't sign other teams castoffs like we did. We signed players cut from bad teams. What. The. Eff?

If the season keeps going like this and we end up in 7-9 or 6-10, I expect some sort of major change (actual GM hire or HC replaced) OR an aggressive free agency approach. Jerry seems to change approaches every year anyway. Three years ago, we don't need free agents. Two years ago, a few veterans will help. Last year, sign anyone who returns our call. Next year, might be "big name" strategy. Jake Long is a giant buzzworthy splash and moves Tyron back to right tackle. Eben Britton will be 25 and has started at Guard and Tackle. Antoine Caldwell will be 27 and has started at Guard and Center.

So if we were to dump Free, Bernardeau, Livings, don't re-sign Costa, and then replaced them with Long, Britton, Caldwell, and let's say Barrett Jones or Khaled Holmes in the draft, we could actually make the Line a strength in one off-season. I know I'm dreaming but it can be done. Picture the offense with that line (You also have to imagine a better Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the full effect).

That's accurate in my opinion.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the (few) benefits of the Cowboys doing poorly is that all of us who have had a theory as to why the Cowboys would do poorly can now declare victory .... and assume that our (varying) theories have been proven correct.

People who were convinced that the Cowboys didn't do enough to address the OL (I was one of those), can say that's a main reason the Cowboys suck.

People who think Garrett is a hopeless, inept head coach can now say that he's the primary reason there is failure.

People who think the main flaw is Jerry and the front office can claim that now too.

And so on.....

So, in a sense we are all winners even though our team is losing.

Don't want to nitpick but, jake long is gonna shake loose? He's their best and 4th best player.

And the reality is they won't admit a $32M mistake with that weird haired derp on the right side of the line.

They're clearly setting up Mackenzie to be the scapegoat. With the center position being better due to the fierce competition. And livings will have to compete with a 4th round pick from south potato st.
