Well I think it's a lock that Ratliff stays healthy. He's like the Brett Favruh of DLineman.

Which is really good, because we don't really have any 3-technique candidates behind him.

His "health" is an illusion. He's tough, and will play through injury, but he's certainly hasn't been healthy and hasn't been for the last three years. He's been nicked a lot and gets held out of practice quite a bit. Two years ago he played with shoulders that kept him from lifting his arms directly above his head.

I can't figure out who we'll be playing in the Super Bowl. There doesn't seem to be any real strong AFC contenders this year.

Guess you'd have to go Baltimore, but then who? I think the Hernandez arrest/Welker departure is kind of the end of the Patriots run, like our Irvin arrest was. Not that Hernandez was it the same stratosphere as Irvin. Just that all the distractions, loss of core guys, etc will finally catch up. Patriots will still be a 10 win team, by virtue of playing in the AFC East... but they're not a SB team anymore IMO.
The Broncos will have 12-14 wins this year.

With all the media and consistent tmz coverage do you think Irvin would be able to stay out of trouble and have a long career playing in today's NFL?

That's why when we throw endzone fades (especially to Austin) it pisses me off.

That or back shoulders. Against the Ravens, both of Dez's TD's and the attempted 2 pt conversion were all back shoulders.

With Dez's ability to go up and get it, we should be throwing a lot more jump balls.

Oh shit. How could I forget the Brocos. I love Peyton Manning.

They might, but don't be shocked if they get off to a rough start. They draw the Ravens and Giants to open the season and could easily lose both games. But their last eight games have two games that are tough (Houston and New England).

I think they go 10-6 if their luck is bad in a game or two. I don't see their defense being as good as they have been the last couple of seasons. They are going to miss Dumervil a bit.

It would be a motherfucking travesty of epic proportions if Eli retires with more SB rings than Peyton.

Maybe if the offense can play 4 quarters. I can't see as many second half comebacks this year so it's gonna take more than just showing up after halftime. If the DL wears down at all and the opponents are allowed to get leads again this year, I don't expect much different than what happened last year.

I hope the defense can start strong to allow the offense to find an easier transition to a new play caller. I know the system and likely playbook are the same but how the team approaches certain situations and how the first series is scripted may not be the same. I think it could take a little getting used to but likely not much.

I wonder if how the team will call plays will change. I'd like to see them call a single play in the huddle and allow Romo to audible rather than going with 2 plays and picking the better matchup. I'm sure Romo has the ability to audible if needed but why not just eliminate the 2nd call and give him full autonomy to direct the game as he sees fit?

I know it's not going to happen but I'd like to see Romo orchestrate more in the fashion that Manning does. Not sure what game but he basically lined up and for about 4-5 straight plays audibled into either a screen pass or took the snap and immediately threw to the TE or WR who's defender was playing off. Just chewing up yardage left and right. The defense was so off balance it wasn't funny.

I want to see Dallas dictate to the opponent from the onset and not have to rely on Romo to carry the team in the 2nd half. They have the skill players but unfortunately because of the OL they are almost forced to keep extra guys in to block and have limited ability to actually spread the ball around. Combined with a retarded reluctance to put younger guys on the field even when a guy like Ogletree is pretty much off in the clouds, Dallas didn't have a guy playing the #3 position for a good portion of the year. 14 of Ogletree's 32 catches came in the first 3 weeks of the season. Guy was practically a ghost from there on out.

That really just sounds like chaos. I can't imagine our offense not fucking that up. Although lets what Frederick can do for their preparedness .

I'm excited by the change up of the play-calling if only for the chance to score in our first possesion for once

For the guys that are bashing Sully, he usually is very realistic on the state of the team. I really.like his articles because of his realist views. He has bashed Jerry's stupid moves time and time again. With that being said, he has lost his damn mind in this case. 12-4 is some stupid shit that I would expect to read in a CZ homer post.

Good point about the DL.

I think a lot of people are taking it for granted.

The depth, despite what the hell you keep hearing from the team, is not all that.

Especially relevant when the starters were drafted in 2005, 2006, and 2007 making this the DL's 9th, 8th, and 7th seasons respectively and the key to the middle is undersized and has a bad injury history and is probably facing suspension.

I actually like the depth at DE, even Wilber. But DT is a joke. 300 and 290 pounds from two guys in their 30's with neither DE over 265. Way to announce you're willing to let teams run the ball up your ass.

Sean Lissemore is our depth? I know he was banged up, but his play against Washington in the finale was butt-awful. Everyone gets banged up in an NFL season, so I could GAS about that excuse. This clinging to Josh Brent as an ace-in-the-hole salvation is embarrassingly desperate.

The only hope for this DL is that Romo, Bryant, and Murray have magic seasons score points and let our defense play downhill against offenses that have bailed on the running game.
