They'll have to be extra cautious about Witten's spleen injury, because it's more susceptible to rupture if it doesn't heal completely.

If it ruptures after a big hit, he's most certainly finished for the year.

Hard to know if holland is a week 2 guy though.

We just seem extremely thin there, at least Leary could improve in the future I guess.

Especially not when you have a young, big, TE who runs like a gazelle.

And I agree that you need to keep Beasley, Harris, and Coale.

Ogletree has earned a spot, but he's also a last year guy so I wouldn't cry if he didn't make the final 53.

Holmes hasnt done much, obviously we dont see all the practices, but not sure losing him is a big deal.

Coale is the one thats the problem. No way does he clear waivers but he hasnt done anything to earn the spot either.

The other 3 are no brainers, all have been outstanding in TC and preseason. Harris and Beasley also return punts and have done decent at it in preseason.

I think they'll definitely err on the side of cuation with him. phillips and Hanna have both shown well in preseason. I dont think it'd be a huge shock if we didnt see him (or Ratliff) until after the bye week.

We cut a couple of draft picks last year didnt we?

I like Coale though, if we want him I think we definitely have to keep him on the roster. Somebody will definitely claim him if we let him go.

Really stupid move Jones and co made not signing Holland weeks ago. By ALL accounts he was vastly better than Dockery and Loper, and we didnt sign him over playing time incentive money (reportedly).

Really ignorant decision. Getting Holland wouldnt have broken the bank, and if he won the job and earned PT incentive money, so be it.

Jones went way overboard with the Leary hype when we got him, but I dont think he's looked so bad that they should cut him either. He has upside. He just needs coaching. He definitely didnt get any quality coaching at Memphis.

I don't get the hype with Holmes. He's athletically gifted but his fundamentals suck.

He's been outplayed by 3 guys for that 3rd spot.

I'd cut him and not lose a minute of sleep doing so.
