So... that whole DL issue we got? What are we doing about it?

who are the bums on the DL? lolol

everyone on the DL is a bum except Hatcher...just about all the other guys are former street FAs that were looking for jobs...Wilber is the only one that wasnt a street FA...and he sucks...

not including Ware...hes on the shelf

Whatever bitch. They're bums because they are not household names. Got it. I see them as depth. Bitches like you complain about our lack of depth and now that we have it, you want to call them bums. Selvie and Nevis had jobs. Colts' fans were pissed that Selvie was let go, and for the amount (2015 7th round).

You cannot have superstars all over the DL. You need some lunch pail/blue collar grunts, especially on the interior.

Probably shouldn't call people bitches and then be dead wrong. Selvie was a street free agent. You are thinking of Rayford.

Calm down on the tough guy act. No one cares.

Scouting Report: A Look At New DE Jarius Wynn's Game Tape

Posted 4 hours ago

A few thoughts from my film study of defensive end Jarius Wynn, who the Cowboys added to their roster Tuesday afternoon. Wynn played five games for San Diego this season before making his way to Dallas.

Jarius Wynn DT / DE 6-3 285 Georgia 5th Season

Games Studied: San Diego vs. Dallas, Oakland, Philadelphia, Tennessee
•Wynn played both tackle and end in the Chargers’ 3-4 scheme, and he will see action at both spots for the Cowboys.
•He has a long, rangy build and plays with more strength than quickness, and he can hold the point of attack.
•Gets some push from the inside, had a nice sack by using power against Todd Herremans of the Eagles, who could not handle his movement down inside. He was able to finish the play on Michael Vick.
•Can work down the line and hold up blockers, but he needs to do a better job getting rid of those blockers quicker. Tends to get stuck.
•There were times where he tried to use counter moves as a pass rusher, and he had some success. But it needs to work more often.
•Wynn has used a quick swim move to free himself against Raiders and later against the Titans, along with a swat move as well that helped him in his rush.
•When he does free himself, he has a burst to chase the ball. His effort is good when trying to finish the play. Not a lazy player.
•Plays with power but, but I don’t like when he rushes down the middle. Brian Waters stoned him a couple of times on his rush in the San Diego game, and he was very unproductive.
•He will work to extend his arms to attempt to control his blocker, but he needs to use his hands quicker to get rid of that man.
•I was surprised he was able to hang in there taking on blocks, because he plays with a narrow base.

•I thought he was better when he was able to rush off the edge and try to get to the outside shoulder of the offensive tackle. He played with more quickness on the edge, whereas inside, it was more about power.
• Did not see much quick redirection in his game, but his effort is really good when it comes to chasing the ball.

The bottom line is that Wynn will give the defense some flexibility at two spots, but I would like to see if Rod Marinelli can get him to play with more quickness off the ball. The Cowboys’ 4-3 scheme could allow him to be better in that regard.

Not a bad signing. About as productive as Hatcher was coming into this year. Maybe Marinelli can get him to step his game up too?

It's ok I heard at CZ once the defense comes together we will be #10 in the weekly rankings...No DL to worry about I guess

We have depth on the DL?

Yeah the DL is clearly the thinnest position we have on the team. Just cause Marinelli is getting these guys to play out of their minds relative to their talent doesn't mean we have depth.

I was on the Marinelli bandwagon before any of you on this board. It was the only reason why I was ok with Kiffin coming here. I'm hoping Marinelli is the DC-in-waiting.

I just wonder does Marinelli thinks these guys are as much of bums as the rest of you? Obviously not, otherwise, he wouldn't bother.

And how exactly does Marinelli have them "playing out of their minds relative to there talent"? What does that mean? Marinelli is a excellent coach no doubt. He's believed to be the best DL coach in the league. And it's obvious that he sees something in these guys to where he can improve upon them. If no-talent or marginal talent existed, no amount of coaching would make up for it.

You people have your concept of bums and Marinelli has his. If Marinelli felt that these guys were as much bums as you claim, I doubt he would even bother with them.

We do have decent depth. Problem is some of that depth is currently starting. I'd say we have good depth in the making, providing that we draft a starting DL in either of the first two rounds. I like Hayden and Nevis, but Hayden should be a backup. Selvie, I'm not so sure about. Maybe he just found a second wind in his career. Then we have Crawford coming back next season.

Brockers' pick is looking real good right now, the Claiborne pick and what we gave up for him, not so much.

I was on the Marineli bandwagon when he was in the Detroit. I actually alerted the team that he would be a good DL coach for us a couple years ago. Turns out I was right.
