Why goes Payton want his deal voided? He wants out?

It's telling that they haven't been able to re-work the extension that was voided.

I would think the Saints feel they have a little more leverage on the extension negotiations after he was suspended, and I bet he took that as an insult, as he should. May have soured him to the idea of staying there.

Payton just came out and says he plans to stay with the Saints.

We'll see how much that holds true with huge amounts of Jerry money waved in his face now that he has to suffer through a year of minimal employment.
