I still think this team needs to add some veteran heads in the mix for training camp. News from OTAs about pool with very bad range is what everybody thought, very limited and not very good. Manny Johnson Barry Church blah blah blah. If one of them steps up fine but it wouldnt hurt to bring in a veteran and a real FS to compete. Seems like the team is affraid to let these players compete and earn a spot. Im guessing thats why this team is full of pussys to begin with.

The only one I can think of is Atogwe that is available that would even give what we have a run for their money.

Who is Manny Johnson? I know we used to have a WR by that name a few years back. He's now a Safety?

I don't know who's out there outside of Otogwe, and he's pretty banged up from what I understand.

I think the team is putting a lot of faith in the young guys. And I think they think if all else fails, start Church at SS and play Sensy at FS. Not sure that's ideal, but not much of what this team seems to do is ideal.

I do know that the Eagles had three stud corners last year, but their secondary still sucked because they had horrid safety play.

I'd hate for us to not learn from them, and to suffer the same fate.

"Why the worry. We have Matt Johnson ". Laz Logan

No. Why worry, because at the end of the day, there isn't shit that you or I can do about it. Broaddus is very high on Matt Johnson. I do not see any reason why we shouldn't give Johnson an opportunity. I imgaine they will give him every chance to earn the job.

It was more than just safety though. Samuels apparently was a real problem for them and it took Namdi a while to get used to the scheme.

They did get terrible play from there safety though, a 2nd rd pick by the way.

I think Samuels was the scapegoat. And to all the people bitching about Matt Johnson... the Eagles were interested in him.

Idc if its FS, SS. IMO this team should have as many safeties at TC as possible. Its a damn shame that this was a horrible yr to be looking for a S in FA and the draft.

It'd be nice to have a true ball hawk safety back there, but as long as they play better than Elam did last year or Hamlin did his last few seasons here, it isnt that big an issue. Especially if other areas of the defense perform at a good to high level.

There might be some growing pains with Matt Johnson if they started him this yr, but he appears to have the work ethic, talent and intelligence needed to be a good player. He's one of the guys I'm most interested in seeing play in training camp/preseason. And while Sensabaugh hasnt been "good" he has at times played decent enough. I thought he was off to a good start last year before the foot injury (at Washington I think it was) and after that he was never the same.

I think Jerome Henderson will have a big impact on the DB unit as a whole as well.

Him and Leary are the two that I'm most interested in.

Was more their linebackers than Safeties.
