Would you like to see him remain in Dallas?

Romo tied Aikman's career TD mark of 165.

Not sure if it was mentioned during the game, I had the sound off and wasn't paying close attention.

Or maybe he did it last week and they haven't updated the stats? Idk. It's pretty impressive either way. He's matched Aikman while throwing 54 less interceptions than Aikman did getting to 165.

Its amazing the two careers that these two have had and how different both are perceived with fans and media. It makes you wonder what kind of success Tony could have had with a competent running game, defense, and head coach for a good chunk of his career.

I honestly believe Tony is a HOF type player who won't make it in because of the fucked up situation he's been subjected to in Dallas.

Edit:

I added a poll question.

its a simple yes or no answer. Would you like to see him remain the QB in Dallas? It's not a question of would you rather see him go elsewhere because of his situation. I mean, I'm of the crowd that would feel better about seeing Romo/Witten/Ware go to a team with a shot at a SB, but that's not the question.

Its a question of his worth/ability to play QB, and wether or not you think he's franchise QB that you want on your favorite team.

I guess so. He's really the only reason we have a shot. I would like to see him play with an offensive line though.

If he left, I think it'd be fun watching an old Jerry the GM try and replace him again. Any failed pitchers we could give a look at?

I will say though, I am so tired of fans - Cowboys and otherwise - always talking shit on the guy and blaming him for everything. That gets old.

Romo is the only reason we've been even remotely competitive since he's been here. Can you imagine this team with a Bledsoe type behind center? That said, I'd almost like him to go to another team just to see where he'd take them. I personally think that with decent pieces around him that he'd burn the league down, but I'm a unashamed Romo homer that tends to gloss over his weaknesses, so my opinion is pretty much worthless.

It seems like decades ago that we were watching the revolving door of shitty QBs shuffle in and out of the lineup in Dallas.

It's only been since 2006 that we knew every year who was going to play the position.

The reality is, those same revolving door years are right around the corner again. Scary thought.

Yeah, I'd love it if we traded Romo to the Jets or something and he took them to a Super Bowl.

I'd love how miserable that would make Jerry and how exposed he'd be.

I certainly think Romo is a SB winning QB. He's wasted his career here.

I'm glad he tabled his contract talks. If I were him, I'd tell the team that I wouldn't sign an extension unless they got serious about the Oline.

Same, to an extent. I get bent out of shape, and tire of making excuses for him.

Then I think about Ryan Leaf, Clint Stoerner(sp?), Anthony Wright, Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Bledsoe, Vinny Testeverde, and Im sure I'm missing a couple, Tony Banks.

As frustrated as he looks on a weekly basis, I wouldn't doubt that he's considered testing the market.

Drew Henson, Brad Johnson, Jon Kitna, Stephen McGee.

When Romo is gone, we're going to be down for a long, long time. Jerry the football dolt has has had a hard enough time finding OL, let alone a franchise QB (or any QB for that matter).

I'd like to kick the tires on Jordan Rodgers, Aaron's little bro. Midswat, you know him well, Vanderbilt murdered your team this year.

Kind of reminds me of Romo, moreso than Rodgers, but with better wheels. Plays in a pro-style offense, is a gamer, looks upfied while he's scrambling, above average arm.

Knew I missed a few.

I agree. I think we'll see a few mid to late round projects and a ton of UDFA flailing.

You're letting Romo walk?

Vote.

Naw, just the discussion of finding Romo's eventual replacement got me to thinking.

No, I'm not voting. There is no undecided option.

Christ, man. I can't even stomach the thought of beginning another QB search with Jerry at the controls. The next time he tries to outsmart the league by putting a project player back there is when I lose all remaining interest in the Cowboys.

Mark my words, he's going to go out and try and find a poor man's RGIII and sell him to the masses, just like he reached for QC trying to imitate the Eagles and McNabb.

he'll trade all our picks from the next 4 drafts for the #1 pick, and take that West Virginia guy
