Jerry already said that had we kept our 2nd rounder, he would have drafted that ILB that eventually went to the Seahawks. So why keep beating this?

The other part to the equation is that this GM has demonstrated over and over that he does not have the where with all to make the right decision when he makes these second round picks so these comments I guess are moot

If you can't see that he had little or nothing to with those rosters with the possible exception of Deion Sanders for the 3rd one, then it is futile to continue debating with you. Your arguing with fiction as your supporting evidence.

Sorry bro I wasn't in the meeting room like you so I don't know the exact amount of involvement Jerry Jones had in every personnel decision from the 90s. All I know is he was technically the GM for three super bowls. Maybe I should defer to your insider info (facts? apparently) though.

That's the point. You're trying to defend Jerry when he has been nothing without the architect of the SB teams.

Just addressing your fictions with facts. I'm not the one claiming I know exactly how much influence Jerry does and does not have on any particular personnel decision.

But I think you make things worse when you don't identify the one or two things they do best and focus on that. Think what coaches do with individual players with limited ability -- they ask them to do only the things they do well. It's only the rare talent that is good at everything.

I always think back to when Parcells reportedly ordered Sean Payton to reduce his huge playbook to the 10 or 15 plays we ran best and focus on them because we were too erratic and inefficient with the rest. That's really coaching 101. First, don't beat yourself. Then when you can execute your staple plays really well, expand on it. But not before.

That's a good point. If nothing else, what's happening now does not appear to be working.

Still, I have little faith in the physical ability of this offensive line. I'm not convinced that they do anything well. On the plus side, at least yesterday they didn't have nearly as many penalties. That's progress ... of sorts.

I think 1994 draft on up would shed light as to how much influence he had, no?

I get that none of us were literally THERE. But we're all fans and closely follow the team.

You don't have to be in the bathroom with someone to know they're taking shit, when they're in their for 20 minutes and walk out with it stinking like shit.

IDK.

Our bad drafts seem to happen predominantly when we have bad coaches. Is Jerry always the same and that's just coincidence or is Jerry always the same (meaning he has less to do with it than you think he does) and our draft results vary based on who Jerry has hired to run the team?
