For instance, those posts to Dez off PA were wide open because of just the threat of Murray. The Bears were loading up to stop him. Ok, but if you go away from him they will stop loading up.

I feel like Garrett makes too many adjustments. We aren't taking a gameplan into the game and then executing it. Or maybe we are and it's just a shitty gameplan - entirely possible.

For instance the Bears knew they wanted to get Marshall away from our outside guys, so they throw in some third down plays where he's in the slot and they got matchups against Butler and McCray. Fucking brilliant.

When is the last time we ever did something like that? Schemed to get our playmaker in a position where he can make plays? Oh I know we'll throw a bubble screen to Dez for 3 yards. Get bent Garrett.

It feels like he is changing his mind on the fly constantly and we can't get any rhythm. We don't have a commitment to anything.
I've felt that way for years. What is our identity on offense? We don't have one, unless it's Tony dodging rushers, improvising, and hitting someone down the field.

I feel like Garrett tries to be good at everything, and that's simply not possible. You have to have a core group of plays or at least concepts that you do really, really well -- which are centered on the talents of your best players -- and build around that. Then you can add some wrinkles week to week. But you can't be so diverse that you're never truly good at anything.

And on theebs comments on Muuray, I think he's getting tired. The guy was never a workhorse in college. He was used more like a Marshall Faulk, catching a lot of passes in a spread offense. Now we're trying to make him Earl Campbell, and that's just not him. All props to him for how hard he runs, but I don't think that pounding everydown tailback is who he is.

Funny how everyone has this misconception about the ravens..their pass rush blows..and their secondary is even worse.

W that said, they are a much better team than we are

I just wonder what will prompt Jerry to finally wake up and hire another Parcells type outsider and give him power.

Jerry is all about $$$ and ego. As long as he's selling tickets, even if half are to opposing fans, he's fine. And his the sole reason he named himself GM is so he can play fantasy football with a real team and be the one to take credit if we win. That's why he ran Jimmy out of town, it wasn't good enough to win with someone else getting the glory. Jerry went with BP as HC to try and get the team back on track so he could get support for the new stadium. I don't see another new stadium on the horizon for us anytime soon so I'm fairly certain Jerry won't be giving up control again.

With the OL struggling the way it is, is there a core group of plays that the offense executes very, very well? I don't think so.

The delay draw used to be an effective staple, but it isn't working now. The holes just aren't there.

I think you hit the nail on the head that the Cowboys' current signature play is having Romo dodge pass rushers and make things happen (some good, some bad).

IMO, the offense was bound to suffer a significant setback this season when the franchise decided to go for broke on defense (and throw spare parts at the interior OL). So the setback happened. On the bright side, the defense is playing better.

Just to be clear.

Those tickets the bears bought were bought from cowboys season ticket holders who sold them to make a profit.

Jerry got his money up front as always each april. Those people are then selling them at a huge mark up to the fans who want to come to one game a year and will pay 3-4-500 bucks for a seat.

It sucks, but its the mentality of this city....Im a buisness owner Im all about making money for myself. That is what north texas is about, never let anyone tell you any different.

There is no sense of community really here at all and especially in the sports world. Most of these people would charge there mom double for a ticket if it was a big game because they are buisness guys.

They love to tell everyone where they are from but thats all, it ends there. Its pretty shallow.

In a city this big with a team with a following like Dallas bears fans should never get there hands on tickets. There should be a long waiting line of season ticket holders. A guy like me who shows up in town in feb of 03 should never be able to go to the ticket window in april of 03 and become a season ticket holder...no way.

but as brad sham said last week cowboys fans are front runners and they suck. And yes that is exactly how he said it.

Jerry's biggest fuckup was not interviewing candidates other than Garrett (think Harbaugh) after Red's abbreviated season as HC. Nor am I MMQBing this. I said the exact same thing at the Zone when Garrett was given the job permanently, sans real competition during the interview process. But Jerry had his low-price, easily-shoved-around head coach in waiting, so why bother? Honestly, I don't respect any HC who would agree to coach under these conditions.

i know what you are saying and you are right, but no harbaugh would ever coach here because of the jones family.

john said it right out two years ago, Jerry jones is everything that is wrong with the nfl.......

after he got all kinds of heat on him for saying that he actually called jerry to explain that it wasnt personal or whatever and jerry said he accepted his apology.

but it shows right out how he is really viewed. There is no in between.

Almost everything he does makes people dislike him more. Most of the owners at this point are of the same ilk but at least they are not the general managers. Even dumbass dan snyder hired a real GM and is letting him do his job, even though they look a like really lousy team.

The other sad part is there really are only a handful of guys who are established enough to come in and change everything, its not easy to say hey no former cowboys are allowed in the building....Parcells got crucified for that but it worked and it made sense.

Jerry doesnt want to do the hard things to make the actual football team better....

I dont know who could fix this at this point. My thought is u need a schottenheimer, parcells, holmgren, cowher type who does it there way and there way only. There assistants are loyal and there players fear the staff.

cowher will never come here and there is no one else that is established. I really cant believe a young guy could come in and build that type of environment with the jones family running around promoting the brand like they own frito lay.

at the end of the day it is so dumb that the jones family insists on this notion of exposure and advertising over allowing the accolades to come in via winning football games.

the coaches, players and owners have way too many tv and radio shows and the organization as a whole is way overexposed for no reason.....the browns need exposure...not the cowboys. I mean, we dont need a tv show documenting the cheerleaders everymove every year for crying out loud.

its a dis-service to the football team and what the real goal should be.....The jones family wants there cake and to eat it too.....the fans just want the damn cake for a change.

Preaching to the choir my man.

But he did fire Chan Gailey and Wade, so at some point he will do something. I think our ratings, popularity, sales figures, etc. have to be way down first, though. He planned to hire Garrett over a decade ago, so he won't be quick to give up on the idea.

With the OL struggling the way it is, is there a core group of plays that the offense executes very, very well? I don't think so.
But I think you make things worse when you don't identify the one or two things they do best and focus on that. Think what coaches do with individual players with limited ability -- they ask them to do only the things they do well. It's only the rare talent that is good at everything.

I always think back to when Parcells reportedly ordered Sean Payton to reduce his huge playbook to the 10 or 15 plays we ran best and focus on them because we were too erratic and inefficient with the rest. That's really coaching 101. First, don't beat yourself. Then when you can execute your staple plays really well, expand on it. But not before.

Seriously. Wtf is wrong with this franchise? Besides the obvious. You'd think the talent could overcome most of the shortcomings in Jerry and Garrett.

Gawd it's worse today than last night.
