1 (25) Dallas Cowboys: Mario Edwards, DT, Florida State
Another defensive line upgrade. The Cowboys' defense, which is ranked second-to-last in defensive yards per play, needs upgrades everywhere, including a couple up front.
2 (57) Dallas Cowboys: Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia
The secondary is still a weak area for the Cowboys. They need to find upgrades at both cornerback and safety.
3 (89) Dallas Cowboys: Z'Darius Smith, DE/OLB, Kentucky
The Cowboys lost DeMarcus Ware and Jason Hatcher this past offseason, and Anthony Spencer is due to hit free agency in March. Another pass-rusher (or three) is needed.

1(21) Dallas Cowboys: Malcom Brown, DT, Texas
The Cowboys need edge and interior rushers to team with DeMarcus Lawrence. So far in 2014, Brown has totaled 3.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for a loss, 31 tackles and one forced fumble. He has been tough to block with a good motor. If Brown continues to play like he did against BYU, his draft stock could skyrocket. For the second-straight season, Texas was dominated by BYU quarterback Taysom Hill. However, one Longhorns defender showed up and competed to try to change that. Brown had an excellent game with 2.5 sacks, 11 tackles and a forced fumble. It was a breakout performance for the senior, and perhaps Charlie Strong's new staff is capable of getting Brown to peak in 2014. The 6-foot-2, 320-pounder has the size for the NFL.

2(53) Dallas Cowboys: Michael Bennett, DT, Ohio State
The Cowboys continue to build up their defensive line. In 2013, Bennett totaled 42 tackles with 11.5 tackles for a loss, seven tackles and three forced fumbles. The 6-foot-3, 285-pounder has some quickness and will probably add weight as he ages. Bennett has 10 tackles with three tackles for a loss and one sack this year.

3(85) Dallas Cowboys: Ramik Wilson, ILB, Georgia
The Cowboys could use some linebacker help. In 2014, Wilson has 37 tackles with five tackles for a loss and one sack. He's shown some pass-coverage ability, but needs to get more consistent in that aspect of his game. In 2013, his first season as an every-down player, Wilson had a big impact for Georgia as he led the SEC in tackles with 133. Wilson was an All-SEC first-team selection for his performance. Along with his impressive tackle total, the junior had four sacks and three passes broken up. Wilson (6-2, 232) did well as the Bulldogs' replacement for Alec Ogletree.

27) Dallas Cowboys - Mario Edwards (DE Florida State) Mario Edwards FSU NFL Draft
Somehow, someway the Cowboys patch-work defensive has held up so far in 2014, but they still need a serious influx of talent up front. Defensive end, slash defensive tackle, slash outside linebacker Mario Edwards is one of the most unique prospects I have ever scouted and makes for a most intriguing NFL Draft prospect. Basically Mario Edwards has the skill set of an edge rusher, but he's just continued to grow to the point where six-foot-three 295 pound defender physically looks like a defensive tackle. However, he's such an athletic freak that Florida State actually uses the near 300 pounder as an outside 'joker' linebacker to stand up and rush the passer. The possibilities for him at the next level are endless.

31. Dallas Cowboys - Markus Golden, DE, Missouri: The big three of Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant get plenty of press but the real reason for the Cowboys' improved play in 2014 has been impressive play along the offensive line and a hard-hitting, opportunistic defense. Golden isn't as flashy as his teammate, Ray, but he's bigger, stronger and more consistent.

bleacher report
23. Dallas Cowboys: Michael Bennett, DT, Ohio State
Lost in the resurgence of America's Team is its need to improve up front—on defense. Bennett is a strong interior pass-rusher, and the eventual emergence of 2014 second-round pick DeMarcus Lawrence will help build the other side of the trenches in Dallas.

32 MICHAEL BENNETT DT, Ohio State
The Dallas Cowboys have turned in to one of the best teams in the NFL thanks to their willingness to build in the trenches through the draft. By adding Bennett, they get a quality internal defensive lineman which would take some attention off of the edges and improve their pass rush. As an added bonus, Bennett would create a nice one-two punch with free agent signee Henry Melton and a healthy Sean Lee will be returning in 2015 to roam behind them.
