Really shaky on Miles Austin these days. There are the never-ending hamstring issues and there’s also this: In his last 19 games, Austin has exactly two 100-yard efforts. He has also dropped 15 catchable balls the last two years, according to ProFootballFocus.com. Over that same stretch, Dez has five.

I mean thank goodness we paid him and then took a salary cap penalty on top of that amirite?

I still love him but he's a player who's got to step it up. Just like Felix, tired of the injuries and inconsistency.

If Dez blows up this year, I think they'll try to move Miles in the off season for picks. I still love him, but if Dez is gonna be the guy, we don't need two.

Those hammies of his seem chronic. God help us if we need a #3 WR and a #1.

It's not like Dez has been any better with 100 yard games but at least his salary is still relatively a bargain. Miles is costing/has cost us an awful lot and once we paid all we've gotten is injuries drops and inconsistency.

Austin is the one.

His numbers would have been great in 2010 had romo not been injured. Kitna never threw the guy the damn ball. The guy was constantly open. Had kitna throw. Him the ball in th saints game we would have won. He was open all day.

Last year the hamstring injury just ruined his season.

If he is healthy he will have a huge year, romo loves to throw him the ball. He gets open about as fast a a wr can.

He must have been held out to make this year is not a repeat of last year.

No question he's the only receiver we have who can get open quickly and consistently.

Doesn't do anything for us though when he's constantly injured, dinged, or dropping passes though. Since he's gotten paid he hasn't been at the same level. That's gotta end now.

he had a great year in 09.

He was on pace for a great year in 2010 till we lost romo.

he had a rough 11.

sorry your right.

0-16.

Austin sucks. Always hurt cant catch. In it for the money.

To be honest I am not sure with guys like austin on the team we can even win a game.

0-16 for sure, only an idiot would think this team is good enough to win a game, I mean where does the optimism come from that says we can win a single game.

Thanks for not going overboard or putting words in people's mouths. Much appreciated.

Hard to say Miles has been mailing it in since he got paid. He looked pretty freakin good against the Jets and Niners before his injury. I think it has gotten to a point where his hammies are all scarred up and i don’t think he will ever heal up right.

Homer 101. If you are critical of the team or player you are predicting 0 and 16 and you hate everything about the team.

You're better than this theebs. Find the happy medium. I need to improve on this as well.

theebs is smarter than almost anyone on this board....save for maybe me

Theebs is a great poster, perhaps one of the top 3 on this forum. I've sensed, and this is solely my opinion, that the new season has returned him to his overly optimistic views he displayed at the Zone, and I get that. New season should equal new hope for Cowboy fans. Many of us have just had our hearts pulled out and shown to us too many times while Jerry parades around like he's bigger than the Franchise.

You on the other hand, rank somewhere between CowboyJoe and Bob.

2 days ago we were a 12-4 team if the oline plays well...granted, thats a big IF, i wouldnt completely rule them out just yet..I wouldnt even have us at 12-4 if they played well...

I think he is most definitely capable of being a big time play maker again.

He just needs to stay healthy but I'm not sure he can anymore.

I just can't get upset about Miles. So the guy is a good instead of a very good WR... So what. He's still a productive player and a good guy who will never be any kind of drama queen or poor locker room type.

He's about the least of our worries, even if he might be a little overpaid.
